Overview

Teachers can award points to students and classes and choose their own rewards. They can also record positive or negative news, sanctions, reports, comments and other events, giving staff a way to capture more than reward totals. The practical value depends on staff making consistent records.

Staff can refer news to colleagues and add follow-up information, which helps maintain continuity when an event involves more than one teacher. Class, form and house monitoring, with week-by-week improvement tracking, extends the view beyond individual records. Reward System is designed for school behaviour workflows, not general-purpose rewards management.

Key features

Points, events and analysis

Custom rewards let teachers align recognition with their own approach, while incident tracking and positive reinforcement sit alongside each other. Monitoring classes, forms and houses can help staff identify patterns over time. The school plan adds whole-school and department analysis, as well as homework and report tracking; those additions matter most to leaders looking across departments or managing broader school reporting.

Communication and access

Parents on the school plan can view reports and receive automatic updates daily, weekly or termly. That gives schools a defined way to extend reporting to families, but it is not included in the free teacher plan. The maker describes the service as accessible online from anywhere, which suits staff who need access beyond a single location.

The school plan also includes MIS integration, but schools should confirm that their system is supported before buying. The maker says data is protected in transit with SSL encryption and stored in the European Economic Area; its privacy policy specifies secure servers in the United Kingdom. The school owns identifiable student information, and Sixth Domain says it will not sell student information obtained through the software. Its privacy policy states that the company is GDPR compliant and registered with the ICO as a data controller (Z3164232).

For Teachers — free

The free plan includes behaviour tracking, analysis of forms and classes, referrals to other teachers, behaviour improvement tools and data security. It is the sensible starting point for individual teachers or schools that need classroom-level tracking without parent access or whole-school analysis. The plan's scope is narrower than the paid tier: it does not include the school plan's parent access, department and whole-school analysis, homework and report tracking, MIS integration or 9-5 support.

For Schools — 480.00 GBP per year

Billed per school per year, this plan adds parent access, whole-school and department analysis, homework and report tracking, MIS integration and 9-5 support. It is the relevant choice for a school that needs family communication and broader oversight rather than classroom use alone. The annual school fee is a meaningful step up from free, so schools should weigh those additional workflows against the needs of their staff and confirm MIS compatibility. Enquiries can be sent to contact@rewardsystem.org.

Platforms

Reward System is available on the web. Online access from anywhere suits staff working across school locations, but the listed platform is web rather than a dedicated mobile or desktop app.

Who it's for

Teachers and school staff who want points, custom rewards and event records in one behaviour workflow are the clearest fit. Senior leaders gain more from the paid plan's wider analysis, while schools that want parent reports and automatic updates need the school tier. Parents are recipients of those updates rather than the primary users described for the free plan.

Reward System is a product of Sixth Domain, based in Manchester. Its maker says John Roberts developed it at his school in 2008, reflecting a school-centred use case.

Pros and cons

Pros: The free teacher plan combines points, event tracking and class or form analysis, making it possible to begin without a school-wide purchase.
Pros: Staff referrals and follow-up information support continuity across teachers, while parent reporting on the school plan extends communication to families.
Pros: Whole-school and department analysis, homework and report tracking, and MIS integration give the paid tier a broader role than a simple classroom points tool.
Cons: Parent access and wider analysis require a £480.00 GBP per year commitment billed per school, which may be more than a single teacher needs.
Cons: MIS integration is included, but schools need to confirm support for their particular system before relying on it.
Cons: The listed platform is web, so schools seeking a dedicated mobile or desktop application should consider alternatives.

Alternatives

Behavior Management Software is a useful starting point for comparing school behaviour tools. Consider Scholva Behavior & Discipline instead if mobile access matters: it supports Android, iOS and web, and its free plan covers up to 200 students indefinitely. LiveSchool may suit schools wanting broader device coverage and a bounded evaluation, with a free school-year pilot for one grade level and up to one school year; its listed Starter plan is 1960.00 USD per year.

Class Charts is another option if a demo-led evaluation fits, though its price is not published. ConductIQ may suit a small school looking for a defined student cap and PDF parent reports: its Small School plan is 600.00 USD per year for up to 300 students, with a formal quote available on request. DeansList is an alternative for schools considering a paid behaviour platform with Android, iOS and web support.

PowerSchool Behavior Support, Abre Behavior & Discipline and Notis are other paid options; contact their providers for pricing details.

Verdict

Choose Reward System if your school wants a free starting point for teacher-led behaviour tracking and values an upgrade path to parent access and broader analysis. Its strongest case is the combination of points, event records and school-level reporting; look elsewhere if your school needs a confirmed MIS match or a mobile app.
