Overview

Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Tartu, Estonia, Sportlyzer combines club administration with player-development workflows. Clubs can keep athlete and contact records, accept online membership applications and assign different access rights to coaches. That structure suits organizations with multiple teams and staff roles better than an informal one-team setup.

Its remit covers membership, invoicing, attendance, communication, scheduling and training analysis. The breadth is useful when administrative and coaching work need to share information, but may be unnecessary for a club seeking only fixtures, chat and availability.

Key features

Membership and team operations

Managers can maintain rosters and contact records, collect online applications and control coach permissions. Teams can publish schedules, request RSVPs, record attendance and assign homework. This turns a calendar into a participation record, giving coaches a clearer view of availability and follow-through.

Billing and records

Group invoicing, imported bank statements, cash-payment records and CSV or PDF invoice export cover routine club finance. Clubs that still reconcile payments manually should gain a more consistent process; organizations with specialized accounting requirements may still need separate financial software.

Training analysis

Coaches can plan annual training cycles, log workouts and tests, and review athlete development and performance. Athletes can share heart-rate data from Garmin, Polar or Suunto monitors, or enter readings manually. That combination supports structured coaching without requiring every athlete to own a compatible wearable.

Web, widgets and data controls

Clubs can embed schedule and membership-form widgets on their websites or use a free club profile. Sportlyzer says it protects personal data with passwords, backups, resilient systems and encrypted HTTPS connections. It acts as a data processor for clubs, and users can export most data in CSV, Excel or XML formats, which reduces lock-in concerns. Contact support and a Help Center are provided.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 EUR per month and is offered alongside the Full package. It gives clubs a no-cost way to establish records and assess whether the workflow fits, making it the logical choice for small or budget-constrained organizations.

The Full package is custom priced according to club size. The published pricing note states paid plans start from €1,000/yr, with annual billing shown as 1000 EUR/year and a 30% reduction; prices include VAT based on the selected country. A 15-day trial is available. Because the final amount changes with membership scale, larger clubs should obtain a quote before treating the annual figure as a fixed budget.

Platforms

Sportlyzer runs on the web and provides Android and iOS apps. Coach Diary apps support coaching work and can operate without constant internet access, useful at venues with unreliable connectivity. Sportlyzer Player apps let athletes view calendars, invoices, messages and test results, extending club communication beyond the administrator dashboard.

Who it's for

Youth and amateur clubs that combine several teams, paid membership, attendance tracking and planned athlete development are the natural audience. It is particularly appropriate where coaches need controlled access and measurable training records alongside office administration. A small team that only needs scheduling, chat or simple RSVP collection may prefer a lighter service, while clubs unable to justify size-dependent Full pricing should remain on Free or compare alternatives.

Pros and cons

Pros

Administration and coaching in one system: membership, invoices, attendance and training analysis can share a club-wide workflow.
Useful finance exports: bank-statement imports, cash records and CSV/PDF invoice output support practical reconciliation.
Offline-capable coaching app: Coach Diary does not require continuous internet access.
Portable records: exporting most data in CSV, Excel or XML makes migration and reporting easier.

Cons

Full pricing is not transparent: the quote depends on club size, with paid plans starting from €1,000/yr, so budgeting requires a sales conversation.
Potentially excessive scope for small teams: clubs wanting only a calendar or messaging tool may pay for administrative and development functions they will not use.
Wearable integrations are limited to named brands: other devices require manual data entry.

Alternatives

See our Sports Team Management Software list for more options.

Chalk is a fit when an always-free plan with unlimited players, team chat, RSVPs, scheduling, dues and digital waivers is the priority.
The Dugout is another freemium Android, iOS and web option for clubs comparing no-cost plans.
BenchApp suits teams wanting an unlimited-roster free tier with scheduling, RSVP, messaging, player stats and payment tracking.
SportEasy is worth choosing when a free Basic plan capped at 30 registered members is sufficient.
TeamStats offers a free per-team plan, but its free tier excludes availability tracking and online payments and includes ads.
Teamy provides a basic free plan for up to three teams and 25 members, with occasional ads.
Upplii is an alternative for up to three teams with no monthly platform fee and payments and scheduling included.
Pitchero fits clubs seeking a free one-team plan, although payment processing is unavailable on that tier.

Verdict

Choose Sportlyzer if your youth or amateur club needs administration, billing, team participation and structured athlete development together, especially with coaches working across several teams. Its strongest case is the unusually broad connection between office records and training analysis, supported by web, mobile and offline coaching access. Look elsewhere if you need only lightweight team coordination or cannot accommodate a Full package quote that starts at €1,000/yr and varies by club size.
