Overview

Seglo is booking and business software for commercial pet groomers, from sole traders to larger teams. It is best suited to operators who need appointments to reflect grooming resources and repeat-care routines. Its free plan is a low-risk way to start, though growing businesses must weigh seat and location caps against the cost of moving up.

Key features

Scheduling can account for grooming steps, staff skills and equipment such as baths, tables and dryers. That makes Seglo more relevant to salons coordinating resource-dependent appointments than to businesses that need only a shared calendar. Pet records and Grooming Care track care cycles, suggest when a pet is due and can book automatically from that cycle, linking repeat visits to the animal’s record.

Customer tools include email reminders, photo messaging and automatic Google review requests. SMS reminders are paid, so businesses that depend on text follow-ups should factor in extra cost. Recurring appointments and staff scheduling support routine operations. Paid Business plans add online payments and Tap to Pay on iPhone; payment processing fees are separate.

The optional AI Receptionist answers routine booking calls using the business’s services and availability, and can pass questions requiring human judgement back to the business. Its subscription is not the full cost: call usage is charged separately. Xero two-way sync is included on Scale plans.

Seglo lists an Appointments app for iPhone and Android, a Business app for iPad, and a Phone app for iPhone and Android, alongside its web platform. Its stated safeguards include encryption, role-based access, audit logging and multi-factor authentication. It says it complies with Australia’s Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles, does not sell personal information, and may process or store data in Australia, Singapore, the United States or other locations used by service providers. Help is available by live chat and email; email support is provided during Australian business hours, with an intended response within two business days.

Pricing

Seglo uses a freemium model, with monthly prices in AUD. The Free plan is free with no monthly fee and covers one person at one location, online booking, pet records, rostering, pay calculation and commission. It is a meaningful starting point for a solo groomer, but lacks Grooming Care and the online payments and Tap to Pay included in paid Business plans.

Starter costs 49.00 AUD per month for one to three people at one location, with $10 monthly credit, Grooming Care, online payments and Tap to Pay. It suits small operators who want cycle-based care and payment options, but the location limit rules it out for multi-site businesses. Growth costs 99.00 AUD per month and supports four to six people at one location, with $25 monthly credit, intake and consent forms, leave management and timesheets. The additional staff capacity and administrative tools make it a better fit for a growing team than a solo operator.

Scale costs 199.00 AUD per month for seven to 15 people and unlimited locations, with $50 monthly credit, automatic gap filling and Xero two-way sync. It is the clearest fit for multi-location operations that can use those additions. Enterprise costs 349.00 AUD per month for 16 to 30 people and unlimited locations, with $100 monthly credit and priority support with a four-hour response. That capacity and support are aimed at larger businesses; smaller teams would be paying for headroom they may not need.

Seglo Phone is 79.00 AUD per month, billed month to month, and billing starts when the number goes live. It includes two devices and standard Australian calls, SMS and MMS under fair use; each extra device costs A$29/month + GST, with a one-time A$149 setup + GST. The AI Receptionist costs 149.00 AUD per month, with call usage charged separately at A$0.40/min for inbound AI calls and A$0.70/min for outbound AI calls; usage prices exclude GST. Seglo also offers a 14-day trial. Payment processing fees are separate from the Business plan price.

Platforms

Seglo supports web, Android and iOS. Its named apps cover appointments on iPhone and Android, business management on iPad, and phone service on iPhone and Android.

Who it's for

Seglo is aimed at commercial grooming businesses, including registered sole traders, partnerships and companies. A solo groomer can start on Free, while teams that need care-cycle automation, payments or more staff capacity can move to a paid Business tier. Businesses relying heavily on SMS or payment processing should account for those separate charges. Seglo is less compelling for a very small operator who needs only basic appointment booking and does not need its grooming-specific scheduling or care tools.

Pros and cons

Pro: Scheduling can account for staff skills and grooming equipment, a practical advantage when appointment availability depends on more than an open time slot.
Pro: Grooming Care connects pet care cycles with suggested or automatic rebooking, supporting repeat-visit workflows.
Pro: The free tier includes booking, pet records, rostering and pay calculation, giving a solo operator core business tools without a monthly fee.
Con: SMS reminders and payment processing carry separate costs, which can make the plan price an incomplete view of operating expense.
Con: Starter and Growth are limited to one location; businesses needing unlimited locations must step up to Scale at 199.00 AUD per month.
Con: The AI Receptionist adds per-minute call charges on top of its 149.00 AUD monthly fee, so high call volumes can increase the bill.

Alternatives

Pet Grooming Scheduling Software is the broader category guide for comparing grooming booking tools. Consider GroomWork if its free plan’s 40 monthly appointments suit a lower-volume business, or its 24.00 USD per month Solo plan for an independent groomer wanting unlimited appointments.

CalMov may suit a web-only solo operator: its free Lite plan supports one person and up to two services, with unlimited services available for $6/mo. DaySmart Pet is a paid alternative with desktop and mobile platform support; its Basic plan costs 29.00 USD per month with payments or 39.00 USD per month without, and includes one user plus monthly messaging allowances.

Pawfinity is another paid option, with a Royal Package at 100.00 USD per month billed annually and unlimited calendars, appointments and employee logins. Furbello may appeal to a small team seeking a 39.00 USD per month Solo plan with up to three active staff, unlimited appointments, customers and pets, and 250 automated texts per month.

Groomer.io is a paid alternative for businesses considering a plan with unlimited SMS and customer and pet records; its Software plan is 99.00 USD per month, with a limited-time offer of 79.00 USD per month per storefront or van. GrooMore may fit a salon wanting a 49.00 USD per month Standard plan for one location and three staff, with 400 SMS and unlimited appointments, clients and pets. PawScheduler is a freemium alternative with a free plan allowing up to 50 appointments per month, unlimited clients and pet profiles, and up to five services.

Verdict

Seglo is a strong fit for commercial groomers who want booking rules tied to grooming resources and pet-care cycles, with a free entry point and paid options for payments and team growth. Choose it when those workflows matter enough to justify separate messaging or processing charges and higher-tier costs. Look elsewhere if you need only a basic calendar, or if your budget depends on SMS and payment costs being included in the subscription.
