Overview

The Internet Scanner runs on-demand SYN scans and identifies services across IPs, CIDR and country ranges, ASNs, and resolved domains. Its Nmap-based engine uses more than 12,000 signatures spanning over 1,200 services to identify software, versions, and protocols. Enabled modules can add TLS/SSL details, HTTP security headers, geolocation, technology stack information, and CVE matches. That can make results more useful than a basic port check, though the extra context depends on which modules are enabled.

Results appear in a live dashboard and can be exported as TXT, JSON, or CSV. The cloud service covers the internet and lists Linux, web, and API platforms. ScanSearch requires users to have permission to scan targets and intends the service for authorized security testing, network administration, and research.

Key features

Separate search and monitoring tools

Dork Search automates Google dork queries and includes a catalog of more than 1,000 pre-built queries, batch processing, and TXT, CSV, or JSON exports. Attack Surface Monitoring adds scheduled scans, change tracking, team dashboards, and email or webhook alerts for new exposures. These tools broaden ScanSearch beyond one-off scanning, but their own quotas and plan costs matter if you want to use them regularly.

API and data handling

The REST API supports JSON, webhooks, and batch operations, with an official Python SDK and CLI. This gives technical users options for integrating scans into existing workflows. Scan data is stored in the account and accessible only to its holder; the privacy policy says personal data and scan results are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties except for stated service and legal exceptions. It also describes HTTPS encryption, secure password hashing, firewall protection, and regular security audits. Scan data is retained for 7 days on free accounts and 90 days on paid accounts, with Enterprise retention agreed separately.

Pricing

ScanSearch is freemium, with free options for all three tools. The Internet Scanner Free plan allows 1 kpps, one scan at a time, up to 1,000 results per scan, and exports capped at 100 rows; it has no API access. This is a constrained way to try live scanning, not a fit for larger result sets or automation.

Internet Scanner paid is 0.30 USD per month, billed per kpps/month. It supports 100–10,000 kpps, unlimited results per scan, full CSV/JSON export, a queue of up to 10 scans, API access, and 90-day retention. Its speed-based billing makes the stated monthly price only part of the decision: the selected kpps level determines the applicable rate. Internet Scanner Enterprise has custom pricing and adds volume discounts on speed, dedicated scan servers, an unlimited scan queue, scheduled and recurring scans, webhook and SIEM integration, an SLA, and a dedicated account manager.

Dork Search Free allows 2 searches per hour, 3 pages per search, and up to 20 results, with no batch mode or API access and limited export. Dork Search Pro costs 39.00 USD per month and raises the limits to 30 searches per hour, 15 pages per search, and 1,000 results, with batches of 10 queries, full CSV/JSON export, and API access. Business costs 99.00 USD per month and raises the caps to 100 searches per hour, 50 pages per search, and 5,000 results, with batches of 50 queries and the same export and API access. Pro suits moderate query workloads; Business is for users who need higher throughput and larger result sets.

Attack Surface Monitoring Free covers 1 asset with weekly scans and 7 days of history, but has no email or webhook alerts or API access. Pro costs 49.00 USD per month for 25 assets, daily scans, 30 days of history, email alerts, and API access, but no webhook notifications. Business costs 149.00 USD per month for 100 assets, scans every 6 hours, 90 days of history, email and webhook notifications, and API access. The free tier is a narrow starting point; Pro fits smaller inventories that can work without webhooks, while Business suits larger asset sets or faster scan cycles. Free-account data retention is 7 days, compared with 90 days on paid accounts.

Platforms

ScanSearch lists Linux, web, and API platforms, with cloud deployment. The Internet Scanner page labels the service GDPR compliant. Live support is advertised, with replies typically within minutes.

Who it's for

ScanSearch identifies security researchers, penetration testers, red teams, bug bounty hunters, blue teams, and defenders as intended users. Its mix of live scanning, optional enrichment, and separate search and monitoring tools is most relevant to practitioners who can use several of those workflows. Anyone scanning must have authorization for each target.

Pros and cons

Pros: Broad target support and detailed service signatures help identify what is exposed, not just which ports respond.
Pros: Optional enrichment, multiple export formats, API access on paid scanner plans, and official Python tooling support analysis and integration.
Pros: Separate dork-search and monitoring products add query automation, scheduled scans, change tracking, and alerts.
Cons: Free scanner results are capped at 1,000 per scan and exports at 100 rows, with no API access.
Cons: Dork Search and monitoring have separate subscriptions and quotas, so using the broader suite can mean paying for multiple plans.
Cons: Free-account scan data lasts 7 days, and the Monitoring Pro plan has no webhook notifications.

Alternatives

Naabu is a free, MIT-licensed port-scanning tool for users who want open-source software.
RustScan is a free open-source port scanner with Android, Linux, macOS, self-hosted, and Windows platforms.
NetsCLI is a free MIT-licensed option for Linux, macOS, and Windows.
Angry IP Scanner is a free GPLv2 option for Linux, macOS, and Windows.
Masscan is free software under the GNU Affero General Public License v3 for users considering a self-hostable option.
Nmap Online Scan is a freemium web alternative with a 10 Scan Credits option at 1.99 USD per once.

Verdict

Choose ScanSearch if you need live internet exposure scanning with service identification and want optional enrichment, API access, or separate dork-search and monitoring workflows. Its free scanner is useful for limited scans, but capped results, restricted exports, and short retention make a paid plan more suitable for ongoing work. Look elsewhere if you want a free open-source scanner or a single tool without separate product quotas.
