Overview

The app places photos and videos in encrypted storage and adds several layers beyond a conventional hidden album. A decoy PIN can present an empty or alternative vault, while separate album codes let users isolate particularly sensitive collections. Cloud backup, a private camera and recovery from Trash broaden its usefulness for people managing personal media rather than simply concealing a few files.

BP Mobile says it does not sell personal data to third parties. It describes GDPR controller responsibilities and California rights covering access, portability, correction, deletion and restriction. The company says it encrypts personal data where possible before sending it to hosting providers, including Amazon Web Services and Advanced Hosters, while acknowledging that it cannot guarantee absolute security.

Key features

Layered access controls

PIN or fingerprint protection secures the main vault, and the decoy PIN is valuable when revealing the real collection would itself be a problem. Unique PINs for individual albums provide useful separation for shared devices or especially private material. These controls make Secret Album more deliberate than a basic hidden-folder utility, although they protect the app's vault rather than every route to the underlying device.

Intrusion evidence and recovery

Break-in alerts include reports with photographs of intruders, giving users a record of attempted access instead of a silent failure. The private camera keeps capture inside the protected workflow. Trash recovery is a practical safeguard against accidental deletion, especially when users are moving large libraries into the vault.

Pricing

Secret Album uses a freemium model. The Free plan is free for the iPhone and iPad app and includes encrypted storage for photos and videos. Cloud backup, a decoy vault, intruder alerts and a private camera are also part of the product's feature set, making the no-cost tier a sensible fit for users who want to evaluate the core protections before spending.

The App Store lists in-app purchases and shows Premium options at 1.99 USD, 6.99 USD, 19.99 USD and 49.99 USD, among other purchase choices. Those amounts do not establish one consistently defined Premium plan or a single billing term, so buyers should confirm exactly what each purchase unlocks and whether it renews. A free trial is available; the published plan information does not give its duration or specify quotas, seats or renewal terms.

Platforms

The app supports iOS and macOS. The App Store requires iOS 15.0 or later or iPadOS 15.0 or later. Mac use requires macOS 12.0 or later and an Apple M1 chip or newer, excluding Intel Macs and older Apple hardware. The listing carries an 18+ age rating, which matters for family-device decisions.

Who it's for

Choose Secret Album if you use compatible Apple devices and want a vault with a decoy entry point, album-specific locks and photographic break-in reports. The free tier also suits cautious first-time users who need encrypted storage without committing immediately.

It is a weaker fit for households with mixed Android and Apple hardware, older Macs or anyone who needs a clearly documented subscription with transparent limits. Users requiring a security guarantee beyond the maker's stated industry-standard practices should also look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Decoy PIN and separate album PINs provide more nuanced privacy than one vault password.
Pros: Intruder photographs, private camera and Trash recovery address monitoring, capture and accidental deletion in one app.
Pros: A free plan includes encrypted photo and video storage, lowering the barrier to trying it.
Cons: Mac support is limited to macOS 12 or later on Apple M1 hardware or newer.
Cons: Premium purchase amounts are published without a single clear plan structure or stated usage limits.
Cons: The maker does not promise absolute security, so the app should not be treated as an infallible protection layer.

Alternatives

Photo Vault Apps is a useful starting point for comparing the wider category.

Keepsafe Photo Vault is the better choice for Android support and a documented 200-item, ad-supported free tier; Premium Monthly costs 9.99 USD per month and renews automatically.
Weave Vault suits users who want Android compatibility and a free allowance of up to three vaults with 50 files per vault.
LockMyPix is preferable when a one-time 29.99 USD Premium purchase and ad removal are more appealing than recurring payments.
Obscura Photo Vault fits iOS users needing up to 50 photos free or unlimited photos, videos and vaults for 6.99 USD per month.
Privately is a stronger match for no-sign-up use on iOS and a documented 39.99 USD yearly Pro plan with locked albums and encrypted backups.
PhotoGuard is an Android-only alternative with a free download supported by ads and in-app purchases.
GalleryVault offers Android and iOS coverage plus a 9.90 CNY monthly plan with 100GB cloud storage.
NullVault is another Android and iOS option from a small independent development group.

Verdict

Secret Album: Photo Vault is a good pick for compatible Apple users whose priority is layered concealment: decoy access, album-level PINs and intrusion photographs are its clearest advantages, and the free plan makes them approachable. Look elsewhere if you need Android coverage, older Mac support or a fully specified Premium price and renewal structure.
