Overview

Security Guard App brings security teams and the clients they serve into a shared operations platform. It suits organizations that need to coordinate multiple posts while keeping timekeeping, patrol records, and reporting together. Its strongest case is the breadth of its free single-user tier and a straightforward per-guard entry price for teams.

Key features

Teams, posts, and timekeeping

Managers can invite guards and clients, maintain profiles, create multiple teams, and add multiple post sites. Guards check in and out through the app, with time-clock and time-log management for recording work. This combination is useful for firms coordinating several locations; it does not, by itself, establish what payroll or scheduling workflows the platform supports.

Reports and patrol checks

Custom reports can be submitted multiple times and include photo, video, or audio attachments, making the platform suitable for documenting incidents and site activity with supporting media. NFC scans let supported roles verify patrol checkpoints, log visits, and attach notes or media after a scan. Organizations relying on patrol verification should confirm that NFC scanning fits their checkpoint setup.

Location, safety, and communication

GPS tracking is offered at sites, with the terms stating that location is tracked while a guard is using the app and tracking is enabled. That condition matters for teams setting expectations about when location data is collected. In-app messaging, live notifications, panic alerts, post orders, and pass-down logs round out the operational toolkit, covering routine updates as well as safety escalation.

The maker says it protects data and communications with encrypted connections and security best practices. Support is available by email or phone, as well as through a support request link. The opened maker pages list no third-party software integrations, so teams that depend on connecting other systems should weigh that limitation.

Pricing

Free: Free forever, for a single user. It includes check-in/out, post sites, custom and multiple reports, multimedia attachments, teams and profiles, GPS tracking, messaging, post orders, pass-downs, and custom breaks. This is a substantial way for an individual to assess the core workflow, but the one-user cap rules it out as a shared team plan.

Standard: 5.00 USD per month, billed $5 Per Guard/Mo, per guard. It adds multiple post sites and team members while including check-in/out, reports, multimedia attachments, GPS tracking, messaging, post orders, pass-downs, custom breaks, and guard and client profiles. It is the practical starting point for a team; monthly subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled, and can be cancelled at any time.

Platforms

Security Guard App is available on Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. The guard mobile app is available on both Android and iOS, making it a fit for teams working across mobile devices and desktop platforms.

Who it's for

The product is aimed at security guards, security companies, and clients, with named use cases in corporate, hospitality, campus, healthcare, and event security. It is best suited to teams that need shared post coordination, guard timekeeping, incident reporting, and patrol verification in one place. An individual guard can use the free tier, but organizations needing multiple users must move to the per-guard Standard plan.

Pros and cons

Pros: The free plan includes a wide set of operational features, including reports with media, GPS tracking, and messaging, rather than limiting the trial to basic check-ins.
Pros: Standard is priced per guard at 5.00 USD per month and supports multiple team members and post sites.
Pros: NFC patrol verification, incident reporting, location tracking, and safety communications cover several core security operations in one platform.
Cons: Free is single-user, so a team cannot use it as a no-cost shared deployment.
Cons: GPS tracking is conditional on guards using the app with tracking enabled, which teams must account for in their operating practices.
Cons: The maker pages list no third-party integrations, a drawback for organizations that need software connections in their existing workflows.

Alternatives

Pick GuardTrac if a free tier capped at five users and one client location is a better fit; its free plan includes basic reporting, live guard tracking, a client dashboard, and shift management.

Choose guardtour.app when checkpoint capacity and history limits are central to the decision: its free plan supports five checkpoints, one site, and 30-day history, with QR and NFC verification.

GuardConnect is another freemium option, with a free plan for 1 to 10 officers.

Consider GuardsPro if a paid platform with a free trial better suits your buying process; it has a Visitor Manager plan at 1.00 USD per month per user.

JWM Guard Tour is a paid alternative with a one-time 89.90 USD Guard tour patrol APP listing.

THERMS is a paid alternative with a monthly subscription tier for 1–5 users at 45.00 USD per month.

CheckpointGuard is a paid alternative with a Pro plan at 34.17 EUR per month, billed annually, for 1–3 guards.

Command Station is a paid option with a 100.00 CAD per month plan for five guards and 20 sites.

Verdict

Security Guard App is a strong fit for security teams that want guard coordination, time records, reports, patrol verification, and communications under one roof, with a clear per-guard monthly starting price. Its single-user free cap and lack of listed third-party integrations are meaningful constraints: look elsewhere if you need a free multi-user team plan or established software connections.
