Overview

Tava Health brings therapy services, employer mental-health administration and practice software into one web platform. It suits licensed therapists and large US employers particularly well, while individuals should confirm coverage and likely out-of-pocket costs before committing. The broad offering is useful, but clients do not get a native mobile app and session prices vary by benefits.

Key features

Clients can see licensed therapists online or in person, with evening and weekend appointments. Tava matches people with vetted providers using their needs and preferences, and says an appointment may be available within 12 hours. That combination is practical for people with limited daytime availability or a specific therapeutic need, although the stated timeframe does not guarantee a particular slot.

Tava says it is in-network for nine out of ten Americans with commercial insurance. Acceptance still depends on the individual plan. Payment can run through insurance, an employee assistance program or a card, and an insurance estimate is not a guarantee of the final amount. The service therefore works best for clients who are prepared to verify benefits and costs rather than assume network status means a fixed price.

Employers get real-time reporting and benefits administration, plus webinars, training and newsletters. One-click HRIS synchronization can simplify connecting the program to existing employee systems. The employer service is aimed primarily at US companies with more than 1,000 employees, making it a more natural fit for enterprise HR teams than for small businesses.

Licensed providers receive an EHR, telehealth, scheduling, client documentation, a booking website, and billing and collections tools. That breadth can replace several separate practice systems, and the free provider plan lowers the barrier to trying the workflow. Tava states that its service is HIPAA and SOC 2 Type II compliant.

Pricing

Therapist tools

Free with no monthly fees. Licensed providers receive free EHR and telehealth tools. It is the clearest value in Tava's lineup for clinicians who need core digital practice functions without a subscription; the published plan does not describe employer administration or a broader paid feature tier.

Employer program

Custom pricing, billed pay-per-use, with pricing provided through a demo request. The program is for US-based companies, primarily those with over 1,000 employees, and can bill claims to more than 200 health plans. Large organizations that need reporting, benefits administration and HRIS connectivity should request a commercial assessment; teams seeking a transparent per-seat price cannot budget from a posted rate.

Platforms

Tava is delivered through the web. It has no App Store or Google Play application; clients can save the website to an iOS or Android home screen, but that is a browser shortcut rather than a dedicated app. Web access covers therapy and provider workflows, while app-first users may prefer a service with native mobile software.

Who it's for

Tava is strongest for enterprise HR and benefits leaders at US organizations with more than 1,000 employees, licensed therapists wanting no-fee EHR and telehealth tools, and clients whose insurance or EAP benefits align with participating providers. It is less suitable for smaller employers, people who require a native mobile experience, or anyone unwilling to check plan-specific session charges.

Pros and cons

Pros

One platform for three audiences: therapy access, employer administration and provider practice tools can reduce the need to coordinate separate services.
Flexible care options: online and in-person sessions plus evening and weekend scheduling accommodate varied routines.
Free clinician software: licensed providers get EHR and telehealth tools with no monthly fees.
Enterprise integration: real-time reporting, benefits functions and one-click HRIS syncing address large-company administration.
Broad claims reach: billing to more than 200 health plans can support employer programs with diverse workforces.

Cons

Unpredictable client cost: insurance, EAP and card payments produce plan-dependent bills, and estimates are not final guarantees.
No native mobile app: phone access relies on the website saved to a home screen.
Enterprise-leaning employer scope: the stated focus on companies over 1,000 employees may leave smaller organizations mismatched.
Opaque employer pricing: pay-per-use rates require a demo request rather than supporting immediate comparison.

Verdict

Choose Tava Health if you are a large US employer needing therapy access, claims and benefits administration, or a licensed provider seeking free EHR and telehealth tools. Its main advantage is the way client care, employer operations and clinical practice software fit together. Look elsewhere if you need transparent employer pricing, a native mobile app or a smaller-company focus, and verify every client’s coverage before scheduling.
