Overview

TripCraftr is built around a group trip rather than an individual itinerary. Participants can work on the same plan, make choices together and keep supporting documents attached to the relevant day. Browser participation and email voting are particularly useful when not everyone wants an account or a mobile installation.

The product also serves professionals through Agent Desk, which gives travel agents client mail, branded itineraries and guides, plus a board of client trips. That is a different use case from the consumer plans and carries a substantially higher recurring price.

Key features

Real-time shared itinerary editing, voting, task assignment and link-based invitations give a group a practical way to divide planning work. Invitees can open a trip in a browser without installing the app, while people without accounts can vote through email ballots. These options reduce joining friction, although the full planning workflow still centers on TripCraftr's trip workspace.

Reservation import accepts forwarded confirmations, PDF uploads and photographs of documents, then reads them into the appropriate day. This is a useful alternative to manually retyping booking information. Route planning, calendar sync, tour suggestions and shared itineraries cover the core organization tasks.

Lorenzo uses the itinerary as context when drafting day plans, proposing detours and answering questions. The free allowance of five replies per day makes it suitable for occasional help, not continuous group brainstorming. Paid plans remove or greatly expand that constraint.

Shared expenses can include receipts, and the Trip Pass adds a ledger with receipt reading. On mobile, an opened trip remains readable offline, which helps when connectivity drops during travel. Integrations named by TripCraftr include Viator, Stay22, FlightAPI.io and Skyscanner for tours, lodging and flights; Google Maps Platform Places, Mapbox and OpenStreetMap data served through CARTO provide map and place services.

TripCraftr says trip content is not used to train its own models and that model providers receive only the context needed to answer a request. Its stated safeguards include HTTPS in transit, encryption at rest, row-level access controls and audited third-party infrastructure.

Pricing

The Free plan costs $0 forever. It allows unlimited trips and invitees, but limits the nearest trip to five documents and five Lorenzo replies per day; tour suggestions refresh weekly. This is a reasonable way to coordinate a light trip, while document-heavy itineraries or frequent AI use will run into the caps quickly.

Trip Pass costs $9 once and unlocks one trip for the whole crew. It removes document and Lorenzo limits for that trip and adds a ledger with receipt reading. Choose it when only one upcoming group trip needs full capacity; it is less suitable for people planning several trips over the year.

Pro costs $30 per year and applies unlimited documents and Lorenzo conversations to every trip. The mobile app-store option is $5 a month. It fits regular travelers who want unrestricted use across multiple trips, though the annual web price is the clearer value for a year-long commitment.

Agent Desk is $49 per month, or $490 per year with two months free. It includes Pro on every client trip, and teammates cost $2.99 each per month. This is aimed at agencies managing client work, not casual group travel. TripCraftr also offers a 30-day trial.

Platforms

TripCraftr runs on Android, iOS and the web. The web option supports browser-based invitees, while the mobile apps provide offline itinerary reading after a trip has been opened.

Who it's for

Choose TripCraftr for families and friend groups that need shared decisions, imported bookings and expense records in one place. It is also relevant to travel agents who need client-facing itineraries and a portfolio view of trips. A solo traveler with simple requirements may find the collaboration and agent-oriented structure more than necessary.

Pros and cons

Pro: Real-time editing, votes, tasks and link invitations give groups concrete coordination tools.
Pro: Browser access and email ballots let occasional participants contribute without an account or app install.
Pro: Forwarded, uploaded or photographed reservations can be placed into the itinerary, with offline mobile reading after opening the trip.
Con: The free plan's five-document and five-reply daily caps can constrain document-heavy or AI-led planning.
Con: Receipt-reading expense ledgers require the paid Trip Pass, even though basic trip planning is free.
Con: Agent Desk's recurring cost is difficult to justify unless you manage client trips and need its professional workflow.

Alternatives

Roadtrippers is a better fit when route-focused planning with saved-trip and stop limits matters more than group documents and voting.

TripIt suits travelers who primarily want reservation-document organization, with a free tier allowing three uploads per trip and a $49-per-year Pro plan allowing 25.

TravelerBuddy is an alternative for automatic trip generation and travel alerts.

TripMapper is worth considering for card-and-list itineraries, notes, tasks and pre-made itineraries, with a free plan and a £3.99-per-month Trip+ tier.

Traveley is an Android-only freemium itinerary option.

Pappus Travel Planner is a free, GPL-3.0-or-later planner available across desktop and mobile platforms.

Jettova offers free consumer trip planning, with bookings paid to partners at their listed prices.

Lambus provides a free basic platform with separate PRO access.

Verdict

TripCraftr is a strong choice for groups that need collaborative planning, reservation capture and shared expenses, especially when browser guests and email voting matter. Start with Free for a lightly documented trip, choose Trip Pass for one intensive trip, or use Pro for unrestricted personal travel. Look elsewhere if you only need a simple solo itinerary or if the free daily document and AI limits would interrupt your planning.
