Overview

Trust & Will is an online estate-planning service for people preparing wills, trusts, and related documents. It is best suited to individuals or families who want a state-specific document package and the option to add continuing membership features or attorney access. Its breadth is useful, but the documents still require signing and notarization before they are legally binding.

The service covers all 50 states and supports trust and beneficiary planning as well as powers of attorney. That makes it a more complete starting point than a will-only tool. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, however, so people who need counsel tailored to a complex situation should not treat the forms as a substitute for an attorney.

Key features

Will and trust plans

The Will Plan bundles a Last Will & Testament with a HIPAA Authorization, Living Will, and Power of Attorney. That combination suits someone who wants core estate and healthcare documents together rather than assembling them separately. The Trust Plan adds a revocable living trust, pour-over will, schedule of assets, and certification of trust alongside those health and power-of-attorney documents. It is the more appropriate package when a trust is part of the plan, but its higher one-time cost is difficult to justify if a will bundle is enough.

Membership and attorney support

Membership features include ongoing plan edits, digital downloads, document shipping, a Digital Safe, a Plan Strength Score, and an AI assistant. These are useful for people who expect to revisit their plan or want stored documents and planning prompts; the free plan does not include ongoing membership. Optional Attorney Support provides one-on-one phone access to a licensed estate planning attorney for one year from purchase, an important distinction for buyers who want a professional conversation rather than document preparation alone. It is unavailable in Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Oregon, Louisiana, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Mobile access, security, and support

The iOS and Android apps let members review documents and add or track assets, while editing documents and updating a plan require the website. The apps therefore help with reference and asset tracking, not end-to-end mobile plan management. Trust & Will says stored data is protected with AES 256-bit encryption and data in transit with TLS 1.2, and that it has undergone SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA examinations resulting in an independent CPA report and certification. Customer support is included and available Monday through Friday. After an account deletion request, associated information and documents are removed, with security backups finally removed 35 days later.

Plans are state-specific, but they do not become legally binding just because they are created online: Trust & Will says they must be signed and notarized after receipt or download. Buyers should account for that final step when choosing a document service.

Pricing

Trust & Will uses a freemium model, with a free plan for estate plan creation without ongoing membership and paid options for document bundles and extras. There is no free trial.

Basic membership: $0.00 USD per free. It allows estate plan creation with no ongoing membership, making it the low-commitment starting point. It gives up the ongoing membership features, so it is less suited to people who want continuing edits or the Digital Safe.
Essentials membership: $49.00 USD per year. It includes personalized plan support, Digital Safe, Plan Strength Score, and Advanced AI Assistant. This is the recurring-cost choice for people who value ongoing support features without buying a document bundle as the central purchase.
Will Plan: $199.00 USD per once, starting at $199. It includes a Last Will & Testament, HIPAA Authorization, Living Will, and Power of Attorney. It fits people seeking a core set of estate and healthcare documents without a trust.
Attorney Support: $299.00 USD per once, a flat fee for one year of phone access to a licensed estate planning attorney. It can add human guidance, but is not available in Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Oregon, Louisiana, South Carolina, or Tennessee.
Trust Plan: $499.00 USD per once, starting at $499. It includes a revocable living trust, pour-over will, HIPAA Authorization, Living Will, Power of Attorney, Schedule of Assets, and Certification of Trust. It is the fuller package for someone whose plan calls for a trust, at a markedly higher upfront price than the Will Plan.

Pricing distinguishes ongoing membership from document purchases: buyers should decide whether they need continuing features, a document bundle, attorney access, or some combination rather than assume one purchase includes all of them.

Platforms

Trust & Will is available on the web, iOS, and Android. The website is required for document editing and plan updates; the mobile apps are for members reviewing documents and adding or tracking assets.

Who it's for

Trust & Will is a good fit for people who want bundled, state-specific estate-planning documents and are prepared to complete the signing and notarization steps themselves. The Will Plan fits core planning needs; the Trust Plan is better for people who need a revocable living trust and its related documents. Membership makes more sense for people expecting ongoing plan edits or wanting the associated storage and planning features, while Attorney Support suits buyers who want a year of one-on-one phone access.

It is a weaker fit for anyone expecting the online forms themselves to provide legal advice, or who wants to edit a plan entirely from a phone. People in states excluded from Attorney Support cannot use that add-on.

Pros and cons

Pros: The Will and Trust plans combine multiple estate and healthcare documents, so buyers can address more than a will alone in one package.
Pros: A free plan permits estate plan creation without ongoing membership, giving cautious buyers a way to start without a recurring charge.
Pros: Optional one-year attorney phone access adds a route to individual guidance for buyers who need more than document preparation.
Cons: Documents require signing and notarization after download or receipt, so online creation is not the complete process.
Cons: The service is not a law firm and its forms are not a substitute for an attorney, limiting its suitability for people who need legal advice.
Cons: The mobile apps do not support document editing or plan updates; those tasks require the website.
Cons: Attorney Support has state exclusions, which rules out that option for residents of seven states.
