Overview

The platform supports chemistry practicals in person and remotely. Its real-time physicochemical model calculates processes as learners work and allows them to act freely within tasks. That gives teachers a substantial collection of structured experiments, with each designed to fit into 10–15 minutes of a 40-minute lesson.

VR is a firm requirement. Each user needs a compatible headset, which the maker does not sell, and a stable internet connection of at least 0.5 Mbps per device. Classrooms also need Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) or higher and a stable signal. Those requirements make equipment and network readiness part of the purchasing decision.

Key features

More than 150 practical tasks: The ready-to-use library gives teachers a wide selection for chemistry lessons without requiring them to build every experiment from scratch.
Real-time reaction simulation: The model calculates chemical processes during a task and lets students choose how to act, supporting active experimentation rather than a fixed demonstration.
Teacher account and support: Full access includes administration tools, product feature testing, and priority technical support. This is most useful to schools and tutors managing classroom use; the demo omits administration tools.
Privacy and registry: The maker says the software collects no personal data and logs behavior linked only to an account. It also says the product is in the Russian software registry as No. 9914, dated 25 March 2021.

Pricing

The free Demo lasts indefinitely on one device and includes several tasks, with no registration required. It is a low-commitment way for a headset owner to try a limited selection, but it lacks administration tools and does not provide the full task library.

The free Trial provides 14 days of full platform access, including 150+ tasks, a personal account, LMS tools, and support, for one device. It gives educators a more complete evaluation window, but remains time-limited and device-bound.

The Annual License costs 50000.00 RUB per year for one device. It includes full access to 150+ tasks, updates and expansion, a teacher account, technical support, and setup help. This suits ongoing classroom use when an annual term is acceptable; each additional device needs its own license.

Chemistry + Physics costs 71250.00 RUB per year for one device and combines both subjects in one application, with updates and expansion for both products. It is the relevant option for buyers who need both subjects; the stated plan does not include the teacher account and support benefits specified for the Annual License.

The Permanent License costs 150000.00 RUB once per device. It includes full access, updates and expansion, a teacher account, technical support, and setup help, and remains valid for the product’s lifetime, but for at least three years. It costs more upfront than the annual plan, while avoiding annual renewal during that validity period.

The Mobile VR Classroom has custom pricing, with a stated price range of ~₽2,7–3,4 млн. It bundles equipment, storage, installed software, 16 Pico 4 Ultra headsets, and 16 permanent licenses, making it a packaged option for organizations outfitting a classroom rather than licensing devices individually.

Platforms

The product is listed for Windows and self-hosted use. Supported headsets include Pico 4, Pico 4 Ultra, Pico Neo 3, Quest 2/3/3s, HTC Vive and Vive Pro, Vive Focus 3 and XR Elite, plus PC VR through SteamVR. Buyers should confirm that their specific headset setup and classroom network meet the requirements before committing to paid licenses.

Who it's for

VR Chemistry Lab is aimed at chemistry tutors, private VR headset owners, schools, colleges, universities, vocational training centers, and libraries. Its short practical tasks and teacher tools are particularly well suited to scheduled lessons and organized group instruction. It is a poor fit for learners without compatible headsets or for institutions unable to provide the required Wi-Fi and per-device connectivity.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad practical library: More than 150 tasks give educators substantial material to draw on across lessons.
Active simulation: Real-time calculations and freedom of action let students influence how experiments proceed.
Classroom support: Full-access plans include a teacher account, technical support, and setup help, while the trial includes LMS tools.
Multiple license choices: Buyers can choose a free limited demo, a 14-day full trial, annual or permanent per-device access, or a bundled 16-device classroom.

Cons

Headsets are essential: The maker does not sell equipment, so buyers must already have compatible devices or source them separately.
Licenses are per device: The annual and permanent prices apply to one device, so classroom costs grow with the number of headsets.
Network conditions matter: Every device needs a stable connection, and classrooms need Wi-Fi 5 or higher with a stable signal.
The free options are limited: The demo offers only several tasks and no administration tools; full access through the trial ends after 14 days.

Alternatives

Consider Chemistry Simulation Software to compare options across the category. Vic’s Science Studio is a web-based alternative with a 14-day full-access trial and 27+ ready-to-use tasks, worth considering when browser access is preferable to VR. Beyond Labz supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows, and offers instructor access for teaching, previewing, and building assignments; choose it when broad platform support matters more than VR practicals. Collisions Higher Education provides free instructor access for US-based college and university educators, making it a fit for that specific audience.

Interactive Chemistry offers free web-based games and simulations, with prototype code available for users to finish themselves. PhET Interactive Simulations provides free, open-source simulations online or for download across web, desktop, and mobile platforms. PraxiLabs has a free one-month plan with three simulations and basic real-time guidance, and may suit buyers who want a limited trial across Android, iOS, or web. ChemLab is another option for chemistry simulation. MolView is web-based and offers free molecule search, sketching, and viewing without sign-up, suited to smaller-molecule work rather than VR practical lessons.

Verdict

VR Chemistry Lab is a good choice for educators and training organizations with compatible headsets, reliable classroom Wi-Fi, and a need for a large library of active chemistry practicals. Its 150+ tasks, real-time simulation, and teacher tools support structured teaching, while per-device licensing and equipment requirements can make classroom rollout costly. Choose it when VR is central to the lesson; look elsewhere when browser access, lower equipment requirements, or free simulations are the priority.
