Overview

Zoho Assist is a remote support and unattended-access service for technicians and customer-support teams. It suits organizations that need to help users across different devices as well as reach configured machines remotely. Its breadth is a strength; the free plan’s one-technician, five-device ceiling makes it a limited starting point for a team.

Key features

Support sessions and guidance

Attended and on-demand support sits alongside unattended access, so Assist can serve both live help requests and ongoing access to configured devices. On-demand sessions need no prior download, and technicians can initiate them without installing software—a practical advantage when helping a user who cannot prepare a device in advance.

Screen sharing, multi-monitor navigation, chat, scheduling, file transfer, and diagnostic tools cover common support workflows. Remote camera sharing adds visual guidance through a smartphone camera or smartglasses, while browser cobrowse enables real-time guidance without downloads or plugins, including field highlighting and sensitive-data masking. These options make Assist more suited to guided troubleshooting than a tool focused only on remote control.

Security and administration

Zoho Assist uses TLS 1.2 and AES 256-bit encryption, with transmissions through SSL and AES encryption protocols. Recurring audits cover applications, infrastructure, and internal policies. Higher plans add departments, group permissions, bulk deployment, custom reports, and session audits, giving larger support operations more administrative structure than the free tier.

Integrations span Zoho products, popular third-party tools, and Zendesk. Enterprise Support provides 24/7 premium technical assistance by live chat or email. Zoho reports more than 850 million installations and 11 million remote sessions, with customers globally.

Pricing

Zoho Assist is freemium, with a 15-day trial. The Free plan is free and allows one technician and five devices. That is enough for a small individual setup, but the device and technician limits constrain shared support work.

Remote Support - Standard costs 10.00 USD per month, billed annually, and allows two concurrent sessions per technician. It is the clearest paid entry point for teams that need more than the free plan’s capacity. Remote Support - Professional allows four concurrent sessions per technician, and Remote Support - Enterprise allows six; both have custom pricing.

The separate Unattended Access - Standard and Unattended Access - Professional plans also use custom pricing and include unlimited technicians. Monthly-billed customer-support plans are available: Standard adds file transfer and two concurrent sessions to Free Edition features; Professional adds mobile-device support and four concurrent sessions; Enterprise adds departments and session recording. For IT teams, Unattended Access Standard adds unlimited technicians to configured devices, while Professional adds session recording and mobile and IoT device support. Those plans have custom pricing.

Plans are pay-as-you-go and can be upgraded, downgraded, or canceled at any time. Buyers should match the plan to concurrent-session needs and required features: the cheaper options impose tighter capacity, while the higher-capacity and administrative tiers carry custom pricing.

Platforms

Zoho Assist supports Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, Chrome OS, Raspberry Pi, and web browsers. Mobile apps are available. That range is useful for teams supporting a mixed device estate, though the plan selected determines which capabilities—such as mobile-device support—are included.

Who it's for

Assist is a strong fit for support teams that need both live, download-free help and unattended access, especially when browser guidance or camera-based assistance can simplify troubleshooting. IT teams may value the unlimited-technician unattended-access plans and higher-tier administration tools. It is less suitable for buyers who need predictable pricing for advanced tiers or a free plan that accommodates a larger team and device fleet.

Pros and cons

Pros: Attended, on-demand, and unattended access cover several support situations in one service.
Pros: Broad operating-system support, including Chrome OS and Raspberry Pi, helps with varied device fleets.
Pros: Download-free sessions, browser cobrowse, and remote camera guidance give technicians multiple ways to assist users.
Cons: The free plan is capped at one technician and five devices, limiting its usefulness for growing teams.
Cons: Most professional, enterprise, and unattended-access plans have custom pricing, making cost comparisons harder.
Cons: Session capacity and features vary by plan, so buyers must choose carefully rather than assume every workflow is included at the entry price.

Verdict

Choose Zoho Assist if your support operation needs a broad mix of attended help, unattended access, and visual guidance across varied platforms. Its main advantage is that range, paired with flexible billing; its main drawback is that the free plan is small and most higher tiers have custom pricing. Look elsewhere if fixed, transparent pricing for advanced capacity is essential.
