Dell Latitude ST tablet launched – Specifications, Review

As we said earlier, (you must be bored of listening to this), 2011 seems to be the year of tablets. Though it is raining tablets running on Android OS, there does appear a tablet runing on Windows 7 OS which leaves an overall great impression. After the Acer Iconia W500, another worthy Windows 7 tablet has arrived in the form of the Dell Latitude ST. If ‘Gimme a break‘ is what you say upon seeing an Android tablet, then probably its time you sat back and examined the finer specifications of this Windows 7 tablet.

Speaking of specifications, as we had earlier reported, the Dell Latitude ST has got a 10.1-inch display screen with 1280×800 resolution pixels, hence validating itself under the 10″ tablet list. A scratch of a sharp object also wont do any damage to its touch-surface, thanks to being supported by Gorilla Glass technology. Powered by a 1.5GHz Intel Atom Z670 CPU, this tablet runs on Windows 7 with integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 600. It has also got 2GB of internal RAMĀ  and a 128GB SSD (the presence of a solid state drive may be one of the major reasons to fall for this one).

No, thats not all. The Dell Latitude ST is richie-rich when it comes to connectivity where you get the following:

  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 4.0,
  • HSPA+, assisted GPS,
  • USB 2.0, card reader
  • HDMI-out

This business-class Windows 7 tablet also features a dock with additional ports. Users can expand for a total of four USB 2.0 ports and a gigabit Ethernet port. regarding the Operating System, users have an option to opt for eitherĀ  Windows Home, Professional or Ultimate editions of Windows 7.

The specs are among the best on paper but the only worry that may seem to bother buyers is the Atom processor it runs on, since Windows 7 as the OS implies a huge amount of multi-tasking. On the whole, the Dell Latitude weighs 816 grams and is 15mm thick. And oh, did I forget about the Integrated 720p HD front facing video webcam and the 5.0 MP rear facing camera? Thats a beauty!

The Dell Latitude ST tablet is now available at an estimated price-tag of $759. Visit here for more info about this Windows 7 running tablet.

(One bad news: Windows 8 cannot be installed and run on this tablet, as per Dell)
