One of the most useful features Google introduced with the Android Oreo is the PiP Picture-in-Picture) mode. The feature allows users to play or use any app over any other app on a floating window. It has become much better than split-screen, as we can move the floating window all along the interface. The same is available with the Youtube app. Here is how to enable YouTube PiP mode in the US or outside the US.

The PiP Mode on Youtube was introduced only for Youtube Red paid subscription users, which is available all over the world. So, if you are from the US, you do not have to go through any other settings to enable PiP Mode. You can quickly enter the youtube app and start using it.

You can also do several actions right from the floating widget. Double tapping will take you back to the full-screen app.

Step 1:  Download any good VPN from the Google Play Store. You can choose from our Top 10 VPN Apps. Open the VPN client and connect to any United States Server. (Make sure you have a fast Internet connection to get consistent streaming).

Step 2: Go to Settings > Apps > All > Youtube > Force Stop. If you cannot find the Force Stop button, open the app and return to the settings. Wipe the app data by tapping the “Clear Data” button.

Step 3: Open Youtube App and tap the profile icon at the top. Tap on Settings > General > Change Country to “United States.” Again go to device settings and force stop the app.

Step 4: Open the Youtube app and watch a few videos. After a few minutes of viewing (15-20 minutes at least), choose any other video, and tap the home button. As for the US users, the app will shrink and float over other apps. Or, you can use any separate app in full screen while the Youtube plays on the top.

Please note that you need to stay connected to the US Server in VPN. Otherwise, the PiP feature will disappear. I hope you found this helpful.
