gScreen Spacebook Dual Screen Laptop – Features, Specs, Price

In Tablets era, here is the new kind of Laptop, which will be available in the market. The specialty is, it has dual screen. And the power of this Laptop is also good with its powerful processors. The manufacturer is gScreen and named it as gScreen SpaceBook.

The gScreen SpaceBook is a true dual-screen notebook PC. The twin displays are sizable 17-inch 1920×1080 resolution full HD monsters. That makes SpaceBook the laptop with the most real screen estate with over four million pixels. The dual screens has achieved by gScreen by making them sliding – to maintain a regular laptop form factor the other screen will slide behind the other one. The slide effect also allows SpaceBook to be used as a normal one-screen laptop.

The SpaceBook comes in two models; the basic model has an Intel Core i5-560M 2.66GHz dual core processor and 4GB of DDR3-1333 MHz RAM for $2395, and flagship model has an Intel Core i7-740qm 1.73GHz quad-core CPU and 8GB of RAM for $3795. In both models, gScreen offers NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250M with 1GB of VRAM graphics.

The gScreen SpaceBook has a 500GB HDD with a rotation speed of 7200RPM. It includes other feature Super-Multi DVD drive, a trio of USB 2.0 ports, memory card expansion, a six-cell battery, Wi-Fi connectivity (802.11b/g/n) and support for FireWire, HDMI and Ethernet.

SpaceBook is a 10-pound monster. When its rechargeable battery is being strained by both screens at the same time, it remains to be seen how much SpaceBook 17 is capable of providing portable operation- users will get more than a couple of hours. Since you need to be plugged in every time and because of its weight it won’t be your “everyday and everywhere” kind of laptop, so you lose a lot of portability.
