Netflix is one of the best and popular video streaming services available on the internet. How to deactivate or delete Netflix account
According to Netflix, an account is automatically deleted if it stays idle for ten months; however, you can request for earlier deletion via email. Before you do that, you will have to take care of a few things. It is only possible from the web to deactivate Netflix account, and not from the app.
1] Login to your Netflix account, and go to your account page.
2] Click on the “Cancel Membership” button under Membership & Billing. In case you have taken membership via Google Play or Netflix or any other service, make sure to cancel the subscription from there. Depending on how many days were left for the subscription to complete, you might have to wait for a few days.
3] Contact privacy@netflix.com from the same email id which you use for Netflix. If you add the email id in the body of the email, it won’t work. If you want to delete the account immediately mention so in the email.
Remove Phone number and Profiles from Netflix
Since you are letting the account go, its best to remove the phone number. It will make sure that you do not receive any promotional message. In your account page, go to Change phone number link in the Membership & Billing section, and choose to delete the phone number. Similarly to remove profiles, which tracks your viewing habits, click on Manage Profiles > select the edit icon on the profile you want to delete and press the delete profile button.
What happens to payment methods after Netflix account deletion
Once the removal process is complete for the account, all your payment methods are also deleted from the servers. There is no way to remove them selectively. However, you can choose to switch to another mode, like Google Play, to safeguard your card details.
