Intel and Lava Collaborates to launch first Intel Inside Smartphone

If it is about MWC, then no mobile company would like to stay behind. And so did the LAVA international. What served as yesterday’s news at MWC was Lava international shaking hands with Intel to launch first Intel Inside Smartphone into the market.

The new Lava XOLO X900 is based on Intel’s Smartphone reference design featuring the Intel® Atom™ processor Z2460 with Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology and supporting HSPA+ with the Intel XMM 6260 Platform.

Lava is growing by leaps and bounds in India and so to expand its horizon, the collaboration between Intel and Lava came into place. The collaboration is going to bring Smartphones under the brand name XOLO. The first Android Smartphone XOLO X900 is expected to reach Indian shores in the quarter 2 of 2012, with support from over all the major 2G and 3G networks.

Mike Bell, Intel’s vice president and General Manager of Mobile and Communication group at Intel said, “India is one of the fastest-growing smartphone markets with the world’s second-largest mobile subscriber base. We are pleased to be working with Lava to bring the best of Intel computing to the India market. Lava’s XOLO X900 device is a great result of our collaboration. It also demonstrates how innovative and compelling products can be brought to market through strong partnerships by using Intel’s smartphone reference design as a foundation.

The XOLO X900 features a amazingly fast 1.6Ghz processor with 4.03 inch of LCD touchscreen to bring crispness and sharpness to the images and text. The powerful processor helps to run an application in a split second, giving the user a great multitasking and web browsing experience. The device features two cameras for mind boggling image and video shooting experience with burst mode, enabling the user to capture 10 pictures in just a second with 8MP of image quality. The Smartphone also sports HDMI®, NFC and HD video playback.

As the 3G services in India will be regulated to more number of cities and so will be there a revolution in smartphone trend in India. India still stands behind many countries in terms of smartphone sales besides having the second largest subscriber base. Lets wait and watch more and more smartphones flooding the India mobile market giving us and oppurtunity to hunt for a better deal.

Stay tuned for more MWC updates
