LG Revolution on Verizon – Impressions, Tech Specs, Release Date, Pricing

Recently announced by Verizon, LG Revolution is now in the shelves of Verizon Stores for sale from yesterday. Only available in USA over the contract by Verizon and the phone is 4G LTE network enabled.

LG Revolution

LG Revolution runs on 1GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm, and there’s no revealing of the RAM in the phone. However I expect the RAM to be 512MB’s after looking at the supplementary specifications. The phone is made huge with 4.3inch screen like almost all the smart phones in the market with stock resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.

Device is made bulky and is more sturdy than the other 4G enabled devices from Verizon namely the HTC Thunderbolt. Since available on contract by Verizon wireless the phone is on CDMA network rather than GSM and allows 4G LTE up to 12 Mbps as well as 3G Rev. A, up to 3.1 Mbps.

Camera isn’t any extraordinary feature for this, it comes with 5mp rear camera and 1.3mp front camera for video calling, that’s obvious! Camera specs are same as the average smart phone today has i.e Autofocus, LED flash and geo tagging.

Verizon called this phone as “entertainment powerhouse” due to the netflix capabilities, big screen and support of the Adobe Flash. Even ending up with Dolby Mobile sound enhancement and 720p recording capabilities.

Unlike other 4G LTE based phones in the market, LG Revolution runs still on the old Android 2.2 (Froyo), but is upgradeable to Gingerbread where as today almost all devices have got Gingerbread. Looking at the hardware specs of the phone Froyo looks okayish, but still Gingerbread is need of the day.

The phone is closely derived from the HTC Thunderbolt, comparing both most of the features are same only thing is ThunderBolt comes with 8mp camera and enough RAM, maybe! As compared with LG Optimus 2X there’s nothing revolutionary in this phone, it still runs on the 1GHz Snapdragon where as Optimux 2X runs on nVidia Tegra 2. In this CDMA section we will suggest you to go for HTC ThunderBolt rather than LG Revolution.

LG Revolution is available from Verizon on two years service contract of $249.99
