List of HTC phones getting Android 4.0 update this year

HTC has revealed the list of phones which are ready to get Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update this year. HTC has covered majority of its phone lineup in the update roadmap. Almost all the current and last generation smartphones are covered in the list except those having poor hardware.

Some of the last generation phones which include HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation 4G, HTC Sensation XE, HTC Sensation XL has already received the update and it is in process. HTC Vivid also lies beside the Sensation family for the update.

HTC EVO 3D and HTC Rezound are expected to get the Android 4.0 update by June-July, that may be somewhere next month as well. HTC Thunderbolt may get the update by July-August.

Some old HTC lineup which includes the discontinued HTC Desire S and also HTC Incredible S are listed by HTC and will be getting the next update by June-July.

Among the best player of 2010, HTC Desire HD which was factory installed with Eclair once is also listed for the next and the most powerful Android operating system ever.

HTC Amaze 4G and HTC EVO 4G+ will be getting the update by May-June. HTC EVO Design 4G and HTC Rhyme will get the update latest by next month. Lastly HTC Velocity 4G is expected to get the update between March-June.

The last one to get the ICS treat will be DROID Incredible 2 and will get it by late or at the end of August.

Except these all other HTC phones will not get the Ice Cream Sandwich update. These phone include, HTC Explorer, HTC Wildfire S, HTC ChaCha, HTC Salsa. Tablet devices will include HTC Flyer, HTC EVO View 4G and the HTC Jetstream.

Even if there is no update for these devices, HTC says these devices will still receive version updates for fixing the software bugs.
