Mercury mTab- 7-Inch Budget Android Tablet – Review, Specs & Price

Mercury- one of the leading Computer Peripheral producers has announced its presence in the Android Tablet race against the bigger companies in India. Today Mercury released a 7 Inch Android Gingerbread Tablet named as mTab. It is the first triple core Processor based tablet released in India.

This tablet is very pocket friendly and it will be liked by the masses in India as it holds a low price tag of Rs. 9499 (around $210 US Dollars!) with the features as much as any other Android Tablets in the market have. Features include music, email, videos, web access, games and e-books. It has an optional 3G slot as well as a memory slot, which is expandable upto 32 GB. This tablet will compete directly to the Beetel’s mid-August release- Magiq Tablet.

This tablet has the powerful Triple-core Processor with 1.2 GHz speed is far ahead than other 800 MHz processor based devices for this low cost. Display and Graphic performance will be very good with this speed and with the Android Gingerbread OS and it has 512 MB of RAM for enough tasking on this mTab. However, this Tablet has built-in internal memory of 4GB and it has an additional slot for microSD cards.

This Tablet from Mercury has 1.3 MP front facing camera for video calls, chats and recordings. The bad thing is. It doesn’t have any rear camera- hope the 2nd gen mTab will come with a rear camera. Wi-Fi, and additional USB dongle will make this device to work better in internet as this Tab offers specially customized 3G packages as a bundled add-on anywhere. The battery life example is given by the company- “Continuous 4 hours of video can be played with a single charge”.

When coming to the Video playback, everyone looks at the resolution, here it is- 7 Inch WVGA TFT LCD touchscreen display supports 800×480 pixels resolution. It has the G sensor screen rotation, which is very useful for the 3D games. In the dimension part, it measures 19.3X11.7X1.4 cm dimension and 400 grams weight. There is no announcement of its variants, such as storage versions and display size versions. It supports all major images and video formats playback. It comes with 1 year warranty too. Are these features convincing you to buy this affordable Tab?
