How to get MIUI-Style Launcher on your Android Phone

After the launch, MIUI just made people crazy over it. People whose phones are already supported with this custom ROM are damn! lucky in case. But  that’s really bad for the people who really loved the UI and unfortunately their phone doesn’t support the ROM. Now in that case there are no worries as XDA Developers just made a MIUI style launcher which supports all Android phones.

This custom made launcher looks exactly same like the original MIUI launcher but there is no app drawer and icons are placed in iOS style at below also you can add multiple apps in a folder. The predefined apps like Gmail have the same icon as seen in original MIUI ROM while other third party icons comes with transparent background which in case is not like the original ROM.

According to XDA,

Tencent Desktop is a translation of the Chinese Dev’s MIUI Style Launcher. it doesn’t have an app drawer, has some MIUI icons, supports themes and has iPhone/MIUI lookalike folders. It runs very smoothly on slow phones (such as my LG GT540) and has a dockbar with up to 4 icon support

Enough of description, you might be excited to get it so, Here’s how to get the launcher on your Android phone.

Note: It’s not necessary that your phone must be rooted, it even works on unrooted phone.

Step One: Go to ‘Settings’ app in phone

Step Two: Select ‘Applications’

Step Three: Check ‘Unknown Sources’ checkbox

Step Four: Download MIUI-Style Launcher or Updated Launcher

Step Five: Transfer the downloaded .apk to your phone

Step Six: Install it!

Step Seven: Reboot your phone

That’s all, enjoy the all new look of your phone’s screen. If in case you find any problem while installing do comment, I’ll be there to help you out. I personally tested this ROM on LG Optimus One and works like charm. The best thing of this launcher is its not at all heavy and so can run perfectly even on slow phones.
