OnLive: A cloud gaming service, that connects to cool Games instantly

OnLive is an on-demand cloud gaming service that synchronizes and stores games on remote servers and delivers them via Internet. Earlier, the service was available only to PCs (running Windows OS) and Intel-based Macs with OS X 10.5.8 or higher. Following the last week announcement, the application has been made accessible to smartphones and tablets (Android, iOS) too.

The downloadable application that enables gameplay on computers without high-end graphics cards and speedy processors gives access to the full OnLive library.  The team is also in talks with Vizio to build the service right into HDTVs and Blu-ray players.

The application is expected to be launched in US and UK first. Already, it has ported 25 console titles to smaller screen with touch-screen control and almost all 200 of the service’s library of console quality titles will be playable via the $50 OnLive wireless controller which works with any online connected device.

Major proportion of OnLive’s games is included in a subscription option called PlayPack, which costs $9.99 a month for unlimited game play. The subscribers can get a 30 percent discount on these offerings. One main characteristic of the application is that it allows integration with Facebook so, you can send status updates and friends can join mult-player game on any device, anytime.
