Purpose: Alternate Current is an efficient, non-locational redstone dust implementation that reduces lag by optimizing power calculations and block and shape updates.
Performance: The README says redstone dust contributes up to 20 times less MSPT with Alternate Current while maintaining high Vanilla parity.
Predictable updates: The mod makes redstone network block updates deterministic and less dependent on location.
Network calculation: It builds networks of connected wires and spreads power from wires receiving power from outside the network.
Reduced updates: The README says each wire emits 24 block updates and 6 shape updates when its power changes, and network-level optimizations can reduce updates by up to 20%.
Supported game: The project supports Minecraft: Java Edition, with listed versions spanning 26.3 through early Minecraft releases.
Loaders: Modrinth lists Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, Ornithe, and Quilt as supported platforms.
Runtime: Modrinth lists server-side and singleplayer as supported environments.
License: The project is licensed under MIT.
Distribution: Modrinth links to the source repository, issue reporting, and a Discord server.
Security: The GitHub repository has no detected security policy and no published security advisories.
Compatibility limits: Available Minecraft versions and loaders vary by release; CurseForge lists version-specific files for Fabric, Quilt, NeoForge, and Forge.
