The record

Purpose: Arroxy is a desktop app that puts yt-dlp’s media downloading options in a graphical interface.
Downloads: It supports video formats and audio-only formats including MP3, M4A/AAC, Opus, and WAV when usable source streams are available.
Playlists: Users can scan playlist entries and queue the whole playlist or selected items.
Subtitles and metadata: It can save or embed subtitles and write metadata such as titles, upload dates, descriptions, thumbnails, and chapter markers when the output format allows it.
Supported sites: Site support comes from yt-dlp; Arroxy says it does not maintain its own extractor list and cites more than 2,000 supported sites.
Integrations: Arroxy uses yt-dlp and FFmpeg, and can use SponsorBlock’s community database to add chapters or trim selected segments from local copies.
Cookies: Optional cookies.txt import or supported-browser cookie access is off by default, and the site says the session stays local to the provided file.
Privacy: Downloads run on the user's computer and files go to the chosen folder; anonymous diagnostics may report app version, operating system, launches, and crashes.
DRM limitation: Arroxy says it does not remove DRM and cannot make a protected stream downloadable if yt-dlp cannot access it.
Security: The source is public and MIT licensed, releases include SHA256SUMS for download verification, Windows builds are not signed with a paid certificate, and macOS builds are not notarized by Apple.
Install options: The site lists direct downloads and package-manager channels including winget, Scoop, Homebrew, and Flatpak; its Linux install script is x86_64 only.
Support: The site links to a Discord community and GitHub issues for feedback and problem reports.
Intended users: The maker describes Arroxy as an option for people who want yt-dlp's toolchain through a desktop interface instead of entering command-line flags.
