The record

Purpose: Cover Me generates tailored cover letters and rewrites resumes to match job postings and their ATS keywords.
Job board support: It auto-reads postings on LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, and Ashby, and allows manual pasting for other pages.
ATS analysis: It scores a tailored resume against a role, shows matching requirements and skill gaps, and supports re-tailoring.
Resume files: Uploaded PDF or DOCX text is extracted on-device, and the raw file is never stored or transmitted.
BYOK privacy: In BYOK mode, the resume, API key, and application history are stored in encrypted local storage, with no account or data sent to Cover Me servers.
Hosted security: Hosted resumes and Pro cover letters are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and data in transit is protected by TLS 1.2 or higher.
AI providers: BYOK supports Claude or OpenAI API keys; hosted generation uses Cover Me's server-side proxy and API key.
Integrations: Hosted accounts use Supabase for authentication and database services, and Pro payments are processed by Stripe.
Resume tailoring limits: The product says resume tailoring does not invent skills or change job history, and offers a compact mode to fit a resume to one page.
Open source: The extension and backend are public under the MIT license, and the maker says users can self-host with Supabase and Stripe.
Telemetry and training: The maker says it collects no analytics or telemetry and does not use user data to train AI models.
Support: Email support covers account and billing questions and promises a reply within one business day; users can also report bugs or request features on GitHub.
Free-tier limit: Hosted free accounts receive five AI generations per day, with the limit resetting at midnight UTC.
Headquarters: Canada
Price from: $8/mo
