Purpose: Grace is an anticheat for Java Minecraft servers that targets closet cheating and ghost cheating, and also handles blatant hacking.
Detection: It uses a rules-based detection pipeline and statistical behavioral analysis.
Proxy architecture: The proxy setup runs as a Velocity plugin with a Paper companion plugin on the backend server.
Requirements: The proxy setup requires Velocity 3.3.0 or later, Paper 1.19 or later, and Java 21 or later.
Standalone option: A standalone Paper plugin is also available and does not require the Velocity plugin.
Alerts: Grace can alert staff in-game and send formatted embeds to a Discord channel using a webhook.
Enforcement: Configuration supports rubber-banding on hard alerts, kicking on action alerts, and optional automatic bans, disabled by default.
Staff tools: Commands provide engine status, player evidence summaries, alert controls, violation history, and configuration reloads.
Source availability: The API, event pipeline, data model, and companion plugin are open source, while the detection logic, model weights, and threshold tuning are closed source.
Status and support: Grace is beta 0.1.0 in active development; the maker welcomes bug reports and feedback through GitHub Issues.
Compatibility: The standalone listing specifies Paper support for Minecraft Java Edition versions 1.19.x, 1.20.x, and 1.21.x.
