The record

Purpose: KoboldAI Lite is a lightweight standalone web UI for KoboldCpp, KoboldAI Client, and AI Horde.
Setup: The UI requires no dependencies, installation, or setup and is bundled with KoboldCpp distributions.
Modes: It offers Story, Chat, Instruct, and Adventure modes.
UI styles: It offers Classic, Messenger, and Aesthetic UI styles, with some styles unavailable in certain modes.
Saving: Stories are saved in the user's browser, and the page recommends downloading a JSON save because deleting cookies can lose them.
Integrations: KoboldAI.net lists AI Horde, KoboldAI/KoboldCpp API, OpenAI-compatible providers, Google Gemini, OpenRouter, Cohere, and Claude-compatible APIs among supported providers.
API limitation: KoboldAI.net runs in the browser and does not provide an API or host models.
Privacy: KoboldAI.net says it communicates directly with most API providers and does not receive the API key supplied for those providers.
Provider privacy: When using AI Horde, a story is sent to a random volunteer who may be able to see it, and the maker advises against including identifiable information.
Local privacy: The maker says KoboldCpp can run offline without sending inputs elsewhere, and the Lite UI stores content locally in the browser.
Open source: The KoboldAI Lite source code is licensed under AGPLv3.
Supported files: Supported imports include KoboldAI JSON and KAISTORY saves, TavernAI and SillyTavern character cards, Oobabooga exports, Agnai and Tavern world info, and raw text.
AI Vision: AI Vision uses AI Horde or a local A1111 endpoint for image interrogation, and the page says this functionality is not provided by KoboldCpp itself.
Support: The maker's site points users to its Discord server for support, discussion, and sharing.
