The record

What it does: Mochi MQTT is an embeddable Go broker/server for telemetry and Internet of Things projects, available as a standalone binary or library.
Protocols: It implements MQTT 5 and supports MQTT 3.1.1 and 3.0 clients with hybrid compatibility.
MQTT features: Supported features include QoS 0, 1, and 2, retained messages, shared subscriptions, topic aliases, message expiry, and client session expiry.
Listeners: Built-in listeners include TCP, WebSocket, Unix sockets, HTTP stats, and HTTP health checks, with TLS configurable on listeners.
Extensibility: A stackable event hook system supports custom integrations for authentication, storage, debugging, and broker lifecycle events.
Persistence integrations: Built-in storage hooks support Redis, BadgerDB, and PebbleDB; the BoltDB hook is deprecated.
Authentication and ACL: The broker defaults to deny-all access and includes a rule-based authentication and access-control ledger hook.
Security guidance: The project warns that its allow-all authentication hook should be used only for development, testing, or debugging, not on the internet or untrusted networks.
Default limit: The default maximum message expiry interval is 24 hours, which the project says helps limit denial-of-service exposure from accumulating retained or in-flight messages.
Deployment: The project documents building and running the broker with Go and provides an official Docker image named mochimqtt/server.
Configuration limit: File-based configuration currently supports only built-in hooks and listeners, with at most one instance of each configured hook type.
Embedded client limit: The inline client does not support shared subscriptions, and inline subscriptions support QoS 0 only.
Roadmap: The project lists cluster support and enhanced metrics support as roadmap items.
License and support: The repository identifies an MIT license and invites users to report bugs, ask questions, and request features through GitHub issues.
