The record

What it does: NewsBriefly AI connects to Gmail and turns newsletters from senders the user approves into summarized briefs.
Summaries and key points: It provides 2–3 sentence article summaries and surfaces 3–5 key points for each article.
Prioritization and topics: Stories receive an importance score, and auto-tagged categories let users filter by topic.
Search and digest: The product offers keyword and semantic search across briefs and an optional daily email or push digest at a chosen time.
Gmail access: The service requests read-only Gmail access and says it processes messages only from senders the user has approved.
AI providers: For summaries and related processing, the privacy policy lists Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT and embeddings APIs, or self-hosted Ollama, depending on configuration.
Data use: The policy says Gmail data and derived content are not used to train or fine-tune generalized AI or machine-learning models.
Security: The security page states that connections use TLS 1.2 or higher and that Google OAuth refresh tokens are encrypted at rest.
Data retention: Raw email HTML is automatically deleted after 90 days, while extracted article content, summaries and metadata are kept until account deletion.
Support: The site lists [email protected] for general support and [email protected] for privacy and data requests.
Notable limit: The Free plan includes one Gmail account, up to five approved senders and 50 AI-summarized articles per day.
Intended users: The Pro plan is described as being for people who read a lot of newsletters.
