Persepolis Download Manager is a free, open-source download manager written in Python for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It organizes transfers with multi-segment downloading, queues, and scheduling. Its video finder supports sites including YouTube, Vimeo, and DailyMotion; version 5.2.0 can display thumbnails and automatically select the highest quality. The downloader handles HTTP and HTTPS links, supports up to 64 connections, and works with SOCKS5 and HTTP proxies. Browser integration guidance covers Firefox, Chrome or Chromium, Opera, and Vivaldi. Linux installation options include Ubuntu, Debian, Arch Linux, Fedora, and openSUSE, plus a bundle that can run without separately installing prerequisites. The project provides Windows and macOS installation instructions. Ubuntu 24.04 and older, and Debian Bookworm and older, are directed to the bundle or source installation. Linux and BSD video installations may use yt-dlp and ffmpeg as optional prerequisites. The project has no official FreeBSD package, and the version in FreeBSD's official repositories is very old.
