The record

Product: Proval is a self-hosted code review agent that connects a Git host to an LLM.
Review workflow: It groups changed files into review units, runs specialist sub-agents, and posts a consolidated review with findings grouped by severity.
Inline comments: Proval can post findings on affected code lines for GitHub, GitLab, and Forgejo.
Issue and thread replies: It can comment on issues and reply in threads, with settings to respond to every message or only when mentioned.
Git integrations: Proval supports GitLab, Forgejo, and GitHub; Gitea and Codeberg can use its Forgejo-compatible webhook and API path.
Model integrations: It supports OpenAI Chat Completions-compatible endpoints and Anthropic Messages API endpoints, including local or on-prem model servers.
Data handling: Proval says it does not store code and sends review context only to the LLM endpoint the user configures.
Deployment: The quick start uses Docker Compose, with a dashboard on port 7900 and webhook receiver on port 7901.
HTTPS setup: The docs say GitHub requires a public HTTPS webhook URL and describe using a reverse proxy for HTTPS.
Notable limit: The Kubernetes reference recommends one replica because Proval stores SQLite data and workspaces under /data.
Intended users: Proval is positioned as a team review layer on a Git host, including for teams using self-hosted Git services.
Project status: The project describes itself as early and says it has rough edges and missing features.
License: The repository states that Proval is licensed under GNU Affero General Public License v3.0.
Try before installing: The site links to a public demo for trying Proval without installing it first.
