The record

Purpose: psychTestR is an R package for developing and administering behavioural experiments.
Built on Shiny: It builds on Shiny to create linear sequences of test pages that elicit and record participant responses.
Local and online use: Tests can run locally for development or in-person data collection, or on remote servers for online data collection.
Page types: Built-in page types include text input, audio and video multiple-choice, dropdown multiple-choice, slider, and final pages.
Custom interfaces: Users can build custom interfaces with HTML-generating htmltools functions and custom page types.
Randomisation: Reactive pages can generate pages at run time, including pages with randomised stimuli.
Results: Responses can be saved to disk as RDS and downloaded through the admin panel as RDS or CSV files.
Admin controls: The admin panel supports downloading results, switching between pilot and live modes, controlling test availability, and viewing participation statistics.
Languages: Internationalised tests can use a dictionary with translations for multiple languages.
Online deployment: The hosting guide says online experiments can be deployed with open-source Shiny Server on a Linux server.
Media: Experiments can display images, audio, and video, using externally hosted media or media hosted within the app.
Integration: The documentation describes embedding jsPsych within psychTestR.
Support: The project welcomes usage questions and bug reports through its GitHub issue tracker and accepts contributions through pull requests.
Notable limitation: The documentation says error logging functionality has yet to be completed and recommends base R and Shiny Server logging instead.
