The record

Purpose: Secure Folder: Incogni Vault is an iPhone app for hiding photos, videos, files, and notes in a PIN- or biometric-locked vault.
On-device storage: Vault content is stored in the app on the iPhone and is not uploaded to a server.
No account or sync: The app has no account system or cloud sync, and its vault works without a network connection.
Stealth mode: The app can use one of nine alternate icons, including calculator, calendar, weather, and sudoku disguises.
Biometrics: Face ID and Touch ID checks are handled by iOS, and the app says it does not see biometric data.
Analytics: The app sends anonymous usage events to Firebase Analytics and says those events do not include vault content or PINs.
Import behavior: Importing copies a photo into the vault, so the original remains in Photos until the user deletes it.
Support: Support requests and feedback can be sent by email to [email protected].
PIN recovery limit: The developer says it cannot reset a forgotten PIN server-side because vault data is stored only on the device.
Platform requirement: The homepage lists iOS 16.6 or later as a requirement.
Maker: The app is made by indie developer Mehmet Ali Kısacık, based in Istanbul, Turkey.
Independence: The maker says the app is not affiliated with Surfshark's Incogni service or Samsung Secure Folder.
Headquarters: Istanbul, Turkey
