The record

Purpose: LeaderboardCore is a lightweight, logic-only component for real-time score tracking through Snapchat’s leaderboard system.
Developer control: It exposes leaderboard APIs while letting developers handle their own visuals and game logic.
Score submission: Developers can submit scores synchronously or asynchronously; the asynchronous method returns a promise that resolves on success and rejects on failure.
Leaderboard setup: Initialization options include a leaderboard name, user type, score ordering, user limit, reset interval, timer setting, and optional start date.
Player data: The component can retrieve the current Snapchat user and that user’s Bitmoji sticker texture.
Update events: The records-updated event provides player records and the current user’s record, which may be null.
Success events: The score-submitted-success event fires after a successful submission and returns leaderboard records.
Supported experiences: The documentation lists Snapchat and Spectacles under “Supported on.”
Privacy restriction: When using Leaderboard Lenses, some APIs are restricted to protect user privacy; the page links to a list of restricted APIs.
Audience: Snap describes its game tools as intended for building social-first games inside Snapchat Lenses, with features such as friend leaderboards and Bitmoji avatars.
Developer support: Snap points game developers to the Lens Studio community and Discord for help, sharing projects, feedback, and troubleshooting.
Score updates: An update event provides records for all players and the current user’s record, which may be null.
User data: The API can return the current Snapchat user and a texture of that user’s Bitmoji sticker.
Supported surfaces: The documentation lists Snapchat and Spectacles under “Supported on.”
