Stratos is a distributed infrastructure network for computation, storage, and network traffic, with blockchain and decentralized database components. It is intended for blockchain application developers, including Dapp developers, who can deploy, store, and execute code and data on its infrastructure. Its four core modules are blockchain, decentralized storage, decentralized databases, and decentralized computing. Stratos describes Proof-of-Stake as the value layer’s consensus, Proof-of-Traffic as the resource layer’s, and Proof-of-Authority as the meta-service layer’s; Proof-of-Traffic rewards participants according to their network traffic contributions. Stratos IPFS, or SPFS, is an IPFS cluster maintained by Stratos for persistent data storage. Its guide covers uploading, fetching, pinning, unpinning, and sharing files through API and WebUI instructions. A free private access token has usage limitations that a subscription can expand. Gateway API requests require an access token and are subject to rate and traffic limits based on access tier. The network lists Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, Windows, API, and self-hosted access, and is headquartered in Canada.
Who it is for
Stratos is aimed at blockchain application and Dapp developers who need infrastructure to deploy, store, and execute code and data. Its SPFS guides also address users managing files through API or WebUI instructions.
What is good
- Combines four blockchain and decentralized infrastructure modules.
- Supports file operations through API and WebUI instructions.
- Free private access token is available.
- Lists Android, iOS, desktop, web, API, and self-hosted access.
What to know first
- Free private access has usage limitations.
- Gateway API calls require an access token.
- Gateway usage is subject to tier-based rate and traffic limits.
Verdict
Stratos brings decentralized computing, storage, databases, and blockchain into one infrastructure network. The free token has limits, and gateway access depends on a token and tier-based usage allowances.
