The record

Product: Velorn is an open-source desktop AI video workstation and editor built around ComfyUI workflows.
Production workflow: It brings planning, generation, asset management, timeline editing, captions, effects, and export into one project-based app.
Local and cloud generation: Generate supports built-in local workflows, cloud or partner workflows, and custom ComfyUI workflows.
Director Mode: Guided creator workflows include music video creation, UGC creator ads, business ads, and an experimental short-film workflow described as very beta.
Timeline editor: The editor includes a multi-track video and audio timeline, clip trimming and moving, transitions, text and visual effects, proxy/cache tools, and export.
MCP automation: Velorn includes a local MCP server with 100+ tools for Codex, Claude Code, Cursor-compatible tools, and other MCP clients.
Integrations: Velorn documents integrations with ComfyUI, Pexels for stock media, and LM Studio for its local LLM Assistant.
ComfyUI requirement: A separately installed local ComfyUI running on the same machine is required for current generation workflows; editing and export can be used without it.
Cloud workflow limits: Partner-node workflows require appropriate Comfy.org credentials and credits, and cloud workflows may also require provider credits.
Hardware requirements: Local workflow requirements vary by model, and some heavy video workflows may need 24 GB or more of VRAM.
Security scope: The desktop app supports only localhost or loopback ComfyUI endpoints.
License: The public Velorn repository lists the GPL-3.0 license.
Local and cloud workflows: Users can run local ComfyUI workflows, use cloud partner workflows, or combine both in one project.
Timeline and export: The timeline supports trimming, moving, fades, effects, and speed controls, and users can export finished videos from the workspace.
