The Japanese blog ‘Blog of Mobile’ claims that Sony is working on another Android Smartphone which will probably be a low cost affordable Smartphone. It carries the model number C190x and will be released in North America as C1904 with 4G LTE and in other markets as C1905 with 3G or HSPA.
Not much is revealed about the phone but it is suspected that it will pack a 5 inch screen with high PPI and a full HD resolution is anticipated. It might be powered by a Quad core Mediatek processor at heart backed up with 1 GB of RAM. It will run on the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.
It is expected to launch in the third quarter of 2013 and will be a budget oriented Smartphone. This will be the fifth Smartphone from Sony this year. Sony has released four other Smartphones including Xperia Z and Xperia ZL along with two other mid range Smartphones, Xperia SP and Xperia L. We suggest you to take this leak with a pinch of salt until any confirmation is given by Sony.
In the past few days, we have also come across two more rumors related to Sony where is it working on rugged big screen ‘Togari’ and 20 MP camera ‘Honami’ Smartphones. We also heard about a Quad core 4.6 inch rugged Xperia ZR in the past. If you understand Japanese or is not offended by translating pages, you can head over to Blog of Mobile to read about this leak.
It will be difficult to say if this phone will be a rugged phone or not, but since it is a budget oriented Smartphone, we suspect that Sony might just give it a skip to keep the price in check. Sony’s Xperia flagships have the USP of having dust and water resistance, a feat that not many other major Smartphone manufacturers could boast of. We mostly see mid range devices from Samsung and Huawei as the rugged offerings.
