Best AI Script Writing Software in 2026
Updated
In short: Lastslate is ranked #1 of 27 as of 4 October 2026, ahead of Saga and Screenplay Assistant. The best-ranked option with a free plan is Saga. The lowest first paid tier on this page is ScriptDraft at $2.50/mo.
AI script-writing tools vary in the kinds of scripts they support and the help they offer during drafting. Compare supported script types with screenplay formatting, AI rewriting tools, and AI context limits. Export formats and real-time collaboration can matter when scripts move between tools or involve multiple contributors; free-plan availability and paid-from pricing add cost context. Screenplay Assistant, ScreenWeaver, and Plotwell appear first, followed by Lastslate and ScriptDraft. Start with the formats you write, then consider what formatting, revision assistance, collaboration, and export options fit the way you work.
27 AI script writing software ranked on what their makers publish — plans and prices, free tiers, platforms and the facts on their own pages.
