Overview

Launched in 2023 and brought to market by Epignosis, TalentHR is a cloud HR service aimed at small and medium-sized businesses worldwide. It combines employee records, time off, onboarding and offboarding, benefits, files, workflows, asset management, analytics, surveys, time tracking, and document signing. Payroll is part of its stated HR scope, though the listed feature set does not detail payroll capabilities.

The breadth can help a business keep routine HR work and hiring in one place rather than splitting them across separate tools. TalentHR says setup requires no IT knowledge and typically takes from a few hours to two or three business days depending on company size, making the stated onboarding process manageable for organizations without dedicated IT support.

Key features

Hiring and employee operations

Applicant tracking covers openings, candidate pipelines, screening questions, CV autofill, AI-generated job descriptions, and suitability scoring. That gives a hiring team tools to organize applicants and assess fit alongside employee records and onboarding. The platform also supports offboarding, benefits, files, workflows, and signed documents, providing a wider operational foundation than a hiring-only system.

Performance, time, and reporting

Performance management, goal setting, time tracking, reports, and analytics extend the service beyond personnel records. Premium adds performance reviews, so organizations that need formal review cycles should account for the higher plan rather than assume that every performance tool is included in the entry-level paid tier.

Mobile, integrations, and protection

Admins and employees can use the iOS and Android apps for core tools, while web access, an API, and integrations with Slack, Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook Calendar, TalentLMS, Google Workspace, WordPress, and Zapier offer routes into existing workflows. Microsoft Teams integration is marked as coming soon. All plans include unlimited email support with a one-business-day response guarantee.

TalentHR says it hosts exclusively on Amazon Web Services, encrypts data with AES-256 and SSL/TLS 1.2, and uses firewalls, vulnerability scanning, monitoring, and intrusion detection and prevention. Database dumps are retained for one year and daily database-host snapshots for 30 days. Epignosis says its group complies with GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and the EU-U.S., UK, and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks. Free accounts with no login for more than 365 days are permanently deleted after reminder notifications, a retention term free-plan users should not overlook.

Anonymous reporting

Safe voice lets employees report sensitive issues anonymously to internal or external recipients through a channel designed to comply with whistleblower-protection laws. It is included in Essential, so a business that needs this capability should budget for a paid plan.

Pricing

TalentHR uses a freemium model, with a 14-day trial and a free plan. The published plan prices and seat rules make the jump from free to paid especially important for smaller organizations.

Plan	Price	What it includes and who it suits
Free	Free	No time limit and up to 10 active users, with core HR tools. A useful way for a small team to start, but the active-user cap limits its room to grow.
Essential	2.40 USD per month	Monthly billing, minimum 15 users, with increases or decreases in increments of five. Adds asset management, custom fields, Safe voice, and unlimited job postings. It suits organizations that can meet the minimum and need those capabilities, but does not include Premium’s performance reviews or public API access.
Premium	4.80 USD per month	Monthly billing, minimum 15 users, with seat changes in increments of five. Includes Essential features plus performance reviews and public API access, making it the relevant choice for teams that need either addition.

The pricing note also gives a paid starting price of $2/user/mo (annual), while the plan prices above are stated as monthly billing. The minimum 15 users and five-user adjustment increments apply to both paid plans, so the effective commitment can be disproportionate for a team just above the free cap. All plans include unlimited email support; the 14-day trial gives prospective customers a limited period to assess the service before choosing.

Platforms

TalentHR supports web, iOS, Android, and API access. The mobile apps provide admins and employees access to core tools, while the API is an integration option listed for the platform; public API access is included with Premium.

Who it's for

TalentHR is best suited to a small or midsize business that wants employee administration and recruiting in one service, and either fits within the 10-active-user free tier or can use the 15-user paid minimum. Its combination of applicant tracking, employee operations, mobile access, and support across all plans gives a growing HR function a broad starting point.

It is less suitable for a business that needs a paid plan for fewer than 15 users or wants to expand beyond the free cap in smaller seat increments. Free users should also be comfortable with permanent deletion after 365 days of inactivity, following reminder notifications.

Pros and cons

Broad HR coverage: Records, time off, onboarding, recruiting, performance, assets, and document signing can sit within one service, which is useful for consolidating people operations.
Practical hiring tools: Pipelines, CV autofill, screening questions, AI-generated job descriptions, and suitability scoring support the path from opening a role to evaluating candidates.
Accessible free tier: Up to 10 active users can use core HR tools without a time limit, giving smaller teams a way to begin without a paid seat commitment.
Paid-plan seat floor: Essential and Premium both require at least 15 users, with seat changes only in increments of five; that makes paid access a poor fit for smaller teams just past the free allowance.
Plan-gated capabilities: Performance reviews and public API access require Premium, while Safe voice and unlimited job postings start with Essential.
Inactive free-account deletion: Free accounts with no login for more than 365 days are permanently deleted after reminders, which matters for organizations treating the free tier as a long-term archive.

Alternatives

HR Software is a useful starting point for comparing options across the category.

Frappe HR offers freemium access and supports self-hosted deployments as well as web and mobile platforms; consider it if self-hosting is a priority. Its listed Frappe Cloud Sites plan is 5.00 USD per month for one site, and Frappe Cloud Servers is 20.00 USD per month for multiple.
IceHrm has a freemium model and self-hosted platform support. Its Open Source plan includes employee profiles, attendance and clock-in/out, payroll, documents, projects and timesheets, and reports, so it is an option to consider when those functions are central.
Happy HR offers a free recruitment plan and describes a 30-day free trial; consider it if free recruitment software is the priority.
Cast HR has a forever-free Startup plan for 20 employees and a Basic plan listed at 2.00 USD per month per employee, free for 20 or fewer. Its free allowance may suit a team that needs more than TalentHR’s 10 active-user cap.
Zoho People has a free plan for five users and web, iOS, and Android support; consider it if a smaller free user allowance meets the need.
Runtime HRMS has a free plan for five employees and an annual-billed Get Started plan at 350.00 INR per month that includes 10 employees, mobile app, payroll, and HR management; consider it if that plan’s stated scope and employee count fit better.
WebHR has a free plan for five employees and a prepaid yearly plan at 2.00 USD per month for up to 1,000 employees; consider it if that larger stated employee ceiling is a better match.
factoHR offers a free plan for up to 20 employees and a Core plan listed at 125.00 INR per month, billed yearly; consider it if its free employee cap is more suitable.

Verdict

Choose TalentHR if your small or midsize business wants recruiting and core HR operations under one roof, and can work within the free cap or meet the paid minimum. Its broad feature set, mobile apps, and unlimited email support make it a strong candidate for that profile. Look elsewhere if a paid team of fewer than 15 users is non-negotiable, or if the free-account inactivity deletion term does not suit your retention needs.
