Overview

AgriTrekker brings vehicle fuel logs, tank records and diesel administration into one service. Drivers and pump attendants can enter refuelling events from a depot or in the field, with offline storage and later synchronisation. That is a sensible fit for farms and routes where connectivity is intermittent, since recording does not have to stop when a device goes offline.

The system is operated by Agri Sync Solutions (Pty) Ltd in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Its terms describe TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, least-privilege access, administrator multi-factor authentication, audit logging and monitoring, with POPIA compliance. Support is offered by email or WhatsApp on weekdays from 08:00 to 17:00 SAST. There is no uptime guarantee, and the maker says the product is not an officially certified measuring instrument.

Key features

Refuelling and rebate records

Entries can be associated with a vehicle and activity, allowing the system to total eligible litres and generate a downloadable diesel refund logbook. This is useful when rebate administration must follow the same records used for day-to-day fuel control, rather than being reconstructed separately.

Tank discrepancy checks

AgriTrekker compares fuel pumped from a tank with fuel logged into vehicles and tank-dip measurements. It flags discrepancies for investigation, giving managers an exception-led way to look for possible theft or recording errors. The comparison supports oversight, but it should not replace legally certified measurement equipment.

Analytics and alerts

Fuel-consumption and vehicle-usage analytics help identify operating patterns. Alerts cover low tank levels, possible theft and approaching vehicle-licence expirations, extending the product beyond a simple transaction register.

Web and mobile operation

Web and mobile applications support central administration and field work. Mobile terms include field activity logging, offline storage with synchronisation, real-time alerts and on-device dashboards. Google Cloud and Firebase are named for hosting, storage, authentication and backups, while Paystack handles payments.

Pricing

The Fuel Management System costs 149.00 ZAR per month for 0–5 vehicles, billed monthly. Each product is billed separately, the price scales with fleet size, and the first month is free; cancellation is available during the trial. There is no permanent free plan.

This entry tier is aimed at a small farm, contractor or compact fleet with up to five vehicles. Larger fleets need a quote based on their vehicle count, so the headline price should not be treated as a universal rate. The separate Maintenance and Repairs System also costs 149.00 ZAR per month for 0–5 vehicles and is billed independently. It adds fault reports with photos, mechanic assignments, preventive-maintenance scheduling, and repair-cost and service-history tracking, making it relevant only if those duties justify another subscription.

Platforms

AgriTrekker provides Android, iOS and web access, with a mobile app for field activity and a web application for broader management.

Who it's for

Choose it if your business owns diesel vehicles and bulk tanks and needs one workflow for refuelling, rebate records and tank-versus-vehicle checks. Farms, transport and logistics fleets, contractors and mixed operations are the clearest fits. It is less suitable when a certified measuring instrument, guaranteed uptime or a permanently free plan is a core requirement.

Pros and cons

Pros

Offline logging: field and depot entries can be captured without connectivity and synchronised later.
Rebate-ready records: eligible litres and a downloadable refund logbook reduce separate diesel-rebate administration.
Exception monitoring: tank, vehicle and dip readings are compared, with alerts for possible theft and low levels.
Accessible starting tier: 149.00 ZAR per month with a first month free gives small fleets a defined way to start.

Cons

Fleet-size pricing scales: the five-vehicle tier does not establish the cost for larger operations.
No uptime guarantee: organisations needing contractual availability should account for that limitation.
Not certified measurement equipment: discrepancy flags are management signals, not a substitute for certified fuel measurement.
Separate maintenance subscription: repair and servicing functions cost another 149.00 ZAR per month at the 0–5 vehicle tier.

Alternatives

RedGPS Fuel Control is an alternative paid fuel-control service with a free trial across Android, iOS and web.

Soldo is the alternative when fuel spending is better handled through wallets, cards, transfers and role permissions; its Standard plan has no published price.

Eurowag Fuel Management is another paid Android, iOS and web option, sold by quote.

Fill-Rite FMS is suited to buyers prepared to purchase hardware alongside a software subscription.

iFleet Pay is a paid Android, iOS and web service with API support.

Track Star Fleet Fuel Management is another paid Android, iOS and web option with API support.

Verdict

AgriTrekker is a strong choice for a small-to-growing diesel operation that wants offline refuelling capture, rebate-ready records and practical tank discrepancy alerts in one system. Its main reasons to look elsewhere are scaled fleet pricing, the absence of an uptime guarantee and the fact that its checks are not certified measurements.
