Overview

The platform covers much of a nursery’s daily operation, from lesson planning and check-in to invoices, payments and learning journeys. Keeping administration and care records together can suit nurseries looking to consolidate those jobs in one system. BloomKidz says it was built by nursery operators and that a nursery can be set up in 15–20 minutes.

Its account structure also suits larger providers: unlimited rooms, nursery groups and sites can sit under one account, and site managers can receive granular permissions. Plans include unlimited staff users, so adding staff does not create a separate per-seat charge. Smaller nurseries may value that flexibility, but are less likely to need the multi-site controls.

Key features

Attendance and check-in include AI smart check-ins that learn nursery patterns. Families can receive instant updates, photos, daily diaries and progress reports, and send two-way messages. Parents connect through a secure web link without installing an app, while staff have native iOS and Android apps.

Billing supports invoices, fees, online payments, payment portals and automated funding calculations. Digital observations, learning journeys and development reports bring child-development records into the same system. The combination is useful for providers that want administration, family updates and progress tracking together; a nursery seeking only one of those functions may find the breadth unnecessary.

BloomKidz says data is encrypted at rest and in transit using TLS 1.3, stored on UK-based servers, and that the service is GDPR compliant, ISO 27001 certified and ICO registered. It also offers UK-based support, which it says is available 24/7. Nurseries leaving the service can receive a full data export within 30 days. Those provisions help address operational and data-handling needs, though each provider should assess them against its own requirements.

Pricing

Paid plans are billed monthly by the number of registered children. Every plan includes unlimited staff users, and BloomKidz says it will notify a nursery as it approaches its child limit without cutting off access or automatically charging it.

Plan	Monthly price	Child capacity
1–30 children	£24.99 per month	1–30
31–50 children	£34.99 per month	31–50
51–75 children	£44.99 per month	51–75
76–100 children	£54.99 per month	76–100
101–150 children	£69.99 per month	101–150
151–200 children	£84.99 per month	151–200
200+ children	Custom pricing	More than 200

The 1–30 tier is the entry point for smaller nurseries; each higher tier raises the child ceiling and monthly fee. Providers with more than 200 children, and group or multi-site providers seeking centralised billing and a dedicated account manager, need custom pricing. BloomKidz also offers all features free through 31 December 2026 with no subscription fees. That makes the offer attractive for trying the full platform, but it is time-limited rather than an ongoing free tier.

A 30-day trial is available. There is no setup fee, and users can cancel a trial or subscription at any time without cancellation fees or lock-in. That lowers the cost of evaluating the service, while the post-offer subscription remains an important consideration for nurseries planning beyond 2026.

Platforms

Staff can use native iOS and Android apps. Parents access the service through a secure web link and do not need to download an app. That split gives staff mobile access while reducing the installation step for families.

Who it's for

BloomKidz is best suited to nurseries that want one system for administration, billing, family communication and child-development records, especially providers coordinating several rooms or sites. Unlimited staff users and permissions by site manager support growing teams. A small nursery that only needs a free, limited child-count tool, or a provider that does not need the wider operational set, may prefer a narrower or permanently free option.

Pros and cons

Pros: Enrollment, attendance, billing, family communication and development records share one platform, which can reduce the need to coordinate separate tools.
Pros: Unlimited rooms, groups, sites and staff users support multi-site operations without separate staff-seat limits.
Pros: Parents can use a secure web link without an app, while staff have native iOS and Android apps.
Pros: The full feature set is free through 31 December 2026, and the monthly child-limit plans have no setup fee or cancellation charge.
Cons: The free offer ends on 31 December 2026, so continued use means budgeting for a paid tier or custom pricing.
Cons: Paid fees rise by child-count band, which may make the monthly cost less suitable for providers with larger enrolments.
Cons: Nurseries with more than 200 children or group providers need custom pricing rather than a published monthly tier.

Alternatives

Parent is a paid option with a free trial and mobile and web apps; its Basic plan includes messaging, media sharing, a newsfeed, scheduling, check-in/out and attendance reporting. Kangarootime offers a free plan for one program, one school and five staff members, while its Premium plan supports up to 10 schools and unlimited staff.

Yenlio has a free starter plan for up to three children and one staff account, including care logs, observations and learning journeys. Verdict

Choose BloomKidz if your nursery needs administration, family communication and child-development records in one system, particularly across multiple rooms or sites. Unlimited staff users, parent web access and broad operational coverage make it a compelling fit, and the free 2026 offer gives providers time to adopt it without subscription fees. Look elsewhere if you need a free plan beyond 2026 or want a lower-cost tool for a very small child count.
