Overview

HR teams can create policies with AI or upload existing documents, keep them in a central library, and assign them by employee, department, location, or across the organization. Employees review and acknowledge policies through the Employee Portal. That combination supports targeted distribution without requiring HR to manage acknowledgements as a separate process.

Its strongest point is version-specific accountability: records show who acknowledged a policy, when they did so, and which version they saw. Archived versions and separate tracking for revisions make it more useful for organizations that need to distinguish a current acknowledgement from one tied to outdated wording. Automated reminders help chase outstanding responses, and records can be exported for audits.

Key features

Targeted distribution: Assign policies to people, departments, locations, or the whole organization. This suits companies with different rules across sites or teams.
Version-linked acknowledgements: Timestamped records identify the policy version and show outstanding responses, offering a clearer record than a simple completion status.
Policy creation and library: Generate policies with AI or upload existing ones, then keep them centrally. The platform also supports policy templates.
Reminders and audit exports: Automated reminders follow up with employees who have not acknowledged a policy, while exportable records support audit work.
Wider HR toolkit: Document generation, digital signatures, employee records, compliance checks, expiration alerts, leave management, incident logging, and asset tracking sit alongside policy management. This breadth is useful if consolidating HR work is a priority, though organizations seeking only policy software may not need the additional scope.

HRDocket says signed documents are encrypted and stored securely. The platform runs on the web. Third-party integrations are not part of the described offering.

Pricing

HRDocket uses a freemium model, with paid plans priced on annual billing. Its Free plan is free and allows up to 1 employee and 1 company, with 10 AI credits and watermarked PDF downloads. It can suit an individual exploring the platform, but the single-employee cap makes it unsuitable for a working team.

Starter costs 15.83 USD per month, billed annually ($190), with 2 months free. It supports up to 15 employees and 2 companies, 120 AI credits per month, and 2 custom templates. It is the lower-cost option for small teams, but it does not include policy distribution and acknowledgement tracking among its stated plan inclusions.

Growth costs 40.83 USD per month, billed annually ($490), with 2 months free. It raises capacity to 50 employees and 3 companies, provides 250 AI credits per month and 5 custom templates, and includes 5 distribution and acknowledgement tracking items. That quota may work for a modest policy program, but teams managing more items should account for the ceiling before choosing it.

Business costs 82.50 USD per month, billed annually ($990), with 2 months free. It supports unlimited employees, up to 4 companies, 600 AI credits per month, 7 custom templates, and unlimited policy distribution and acknowledgement tracking. Dedicated support is included. This is the clearest fit for a growing or multi-location organization whose policy volume would outgrow Growth, although the four-company limit remains relevant for larger groups.

A 24-hour trial provides full access to Business-plan features without a card or commitment. It is a short window for assessing workflows, so teams should focus on whether the policy process and limits suit them rather than expecting a prolonged evaluation.

Platforms

HRDocket is available on the web, giving HR teams and employees browser-based access to policy workflows and the Employee Portal.

Who it's for

HRDocket is a sensible choice for small teams that want policy acknowledgement records as part of a broader HR platform, and for larger organizations that need assignments across departments or locations. Growth is the entry point for stated distribution and acknowledgement tracking; Business is the plan to consider when five tracking items are not enough. It is less compelling for organizations that need a standalone policy tool or rely on third-party integrations.

Pros and cons

Pro: Acknowledgements are timestamped and tied to a specific policy version, helping HR distinguish confirmations for revised wording.
Pro: Policies can be targeted by person, department, or location, and automated reminders reduce the need to chase every outstanding response manually.
Pro: Policy work sits alongside document, employee-record, compliance, and other HR features, which may reduce the need to split those tasks across tools.
Con: Growth caps distribution and acknowledgement tracking at 5 items, while unlimited tracking requires Business.
Con: The Free plan is limited to one employee, and Starter's stated inclusions do not provide distribution and acknowledgement tracking.
Con: Third-party integrations are not part of the described offering, which may be a drawback for organizations standardizing around connected systems.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, see Policy Management Software.

Akcepta is worth considering if a self-hosted option matters or a free plan limited to one active policy, metadata, version approval, and evidence preview is enough; its free plan does not send policies to employees.
Go-EMP Policy Management offers Android, iOS, and web access, with a paid model and a free trial; consider it if mobile access is a priority.
InspectWrk Policy Management provides a 14-day free trial and supports mobile, API, web, and self-hosted deployments; consider it if those platforms suit your environment.
Keelstar has free web tools and API access; it is an alternative to review if that offering fits your needs.
ReadSignFlow has a free plan with limits of 20 employees, 3 active campaigns, 20 documents, and 500 emails per month; consider it if those campaign and document caps align with your requirements.
DocRead offers Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Server editions with quote-based pricing; consider it if one of those environments is central to your deployment.
Policyflow has a free web plan for up to 15 employees, with unlimited policies, version history, and audit-ready exports; it may suit smaller teams prioritizing those policy capabilities.
Zavanta is another paid policy management option, with pricing provided by contacting Comprose.

Verdict

Choose HRDocket if your organization wants version-specific policy acknowledgements, reminders, and audit exports within a wider HR document and records platform. Its main advantage is joining those policy controls with other HR workflows; look elsewhere if you need third-party integrations or if Growth's five-item tracking allowance is too restrictive and Business is beyond your needs.
