Overview

Jostle brings company communications, employee information, recognition, and curated knowledge into a shared platform. It is best suited to organizations with staff spread across offices, branches, field work, or remote locations. Its breadth makes it a credible employee hub, though buyers must request custom pricing to compare the plans.

Key features

Targeted news, discussions, email newsletters, mobile apps, and digital signage give communications teams several ways to reach employees, including those who are rarely at a desk. Audience targeting helps direct messages to relevant groups. A directory, employee profiles, and organizational charts support everyday tasks such as finding colleagues and understanding reporting relationships.

Recognition, company values, and birthday and hire-date features add a social layer to formal communications. The Library provides a place to curate internal information, while JostleAI offers answers contextualized by role, location, and department. These knowledge tools will matter most to organizations with guidance employees need to find; the Library starts at Silver, so Bronze is a more limited choice for teams prioritizing self-service information.

Jostle lists integrations with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Bonusly, Zapier, HRIS/HCM systems, SSO, and its platform API. All plans include integrations, SSO and provisioning, APIs and SFTP sync, custom branding, engagement analytics, unlimited storage, governance features, and multiple languages. Unlimited storage removes a common capacity concern, while the broad baseline of administrative features means buyers do not have to move up a tier for those capabilities.

Plans include onboarding and full support, and customers can contact Customer Success or submit tickets through the Support Forum. Jostle says data is encrypted at rest and in transit and backed up daily. Its operations undergo an annual third-party SOC 2 Trust Service Principles audit; the SOC 2 Type II report is available to customers under NDA. Customers can choose data centers in the US, Europe, Australia, or Canada, useful for organizations with regional hosting requirements.

Pricing

Jostle offers a free plan and a free 30-day trial. The trial unlocks Platinum features for up to 15 users, making it a way to assess the broadest feature set with a small group. The paid plans use custom pricing, so teams should request a quote to compare costs for their size and needed add-ons.

Bronze: Includes News, Activity feed, employee recognition, discussions, email digest, and mobile apps. It covers core communications and culture, but excludes the Library and Ask a Question, so it is a poorer fit when staff need a curated knowledge base.
Silver: Adds the Library, Ask a Question, Links, and Custom Views, plus a choice of one add-on. This is the entry point for teams that need structured knowledge and some added functionality.
Gold: Includes everything in Silver, a choice of three add-ons, onboarding, and full support. It suits organizations that need more than one or two extensions and guided setup.
Platinum: Includes everything and all add-ons, with onboarding and full support. It is the most complete option for organizations that need the full set, though custom pricing makes it important to confirm which add-ons justify the tier.

All plans include unlimited storage and the same core integration, security administration, analytics, branding, governance, and language capabilities. The practical differences are the knowledge features, add-on allowance, and onboarding and full support on Gold and Platinum.

Platforms

Jostle supports web, Android, and iOS, alongside an API. Native mobile apps complement email and digital signage for organizations reaching employees across different work settings.

Who it's for

Jostle is a strong fit for organizations that need one place to publish targeted updates, connect employees across locations, and maintain employee and company information. Silver is the more relevant starting point when curated knowledge matters; organizations that need a full complement of add-ons should compare Gold and Platinum. Teams seeking only a basic news feed may find Bronze sufficient, while buyers who need published seat-based costs will have to weigh the custom-quote process.

Pros and cons

Pros: Multiple communication channels, audience targeting, and native mobile apps can help reach desk-based and mobile staff.
Pros: Directory, profiles, organizational charts, recognition, and company values combine practical employee information with culture tools.
Pros: Unlimited storage and integrations, SSO, APIs, analytics, and governance across all plans provide a substantial shared baseline.
Pros: Regional hosting choices and an annual third-party SOC 2 audit support organizations with security and data-location requirements.
Cons: Custom pricing makes it difficult to compare per-user costs before requesting a quote.
Cons: The Library and Ask a Question are absent from Bronze, limiting its usefulness for organizations that want knowledge tools at the entry tier.
Cons: Silver and Gold restrict add-ons to one and three, respectively; teams needing every add-on must consider Platinum.

Alternatives

Appspace Signage is worth considering when signage is the priority and a capped free plan fits: it includes one compatible device, two Premium Users, up to two admins, 5GB of storage, and 5GB monthly bandwidth. HumHub is the alternative for organizations that want an AGPLv3, self-hosted community edition with access to a module marketplace and community support.

MangoApps may suit buyers who want a published starting price: its Communications & Intranet plan is 9.00 USD per month, billed from 200 employees, with volume pricing and a second-suite discount applied. Blink is another option when a defined per-user price is useful: Core costs 4.50 USD per month per user and includes company branding, internal communications, real-time collaboration, and a knowledge hub.

Axero, Jalios Intranet, eXo Platform, and Happeo are also alternatives to compare for an employee intranet.

Verdict

Choose Jostle if your organization needs a shared employee platform that combines targeted communications, people information, recognition, and curated knowledge across office, field, remote, or branch teams. Its all-plan integrations, unlimited storage, and hosting choices give it a broad foundation. Look elsewhere if upfront pricing is essential, or if your requirements call for knowledge tools without moving beyond Bronze.
