Overview

FamilyWall brings a shared calendar, shopping and to-do lists, a contact book and private messaging into one service. Messages can include text, voice, photos and video, and households can create private groups for relatives, friends or neighbors. This breadth can make routine coordination easier to centralize, though households that only need a shared schedule may not need the additional tools.

Shopping lists work offline, which is useful during errands when connectivity is unreliable. Premium adds two-way Google and Outlook calendar sync, a budget tracker, meal planner, timetable, family locator, place alerts and 25 GB of storage. Sync is particularly relevant to households that already manage dates in Google Calendar or Outlook.

FamilyWall says its security procedures include restricted access to personal information. Its privacy policy also says information may be processed or stored internationally and that the service is not intended for children under 13. Location sharing is for personal use and displays a family member’s last explicitly posted position; FamilyWall says it is not suitable as an emergency locator. Users can withdraw location consent by turning off Locate in their device settings.

Key features

Shared calendar and lists

The calendar combines family schedules, while shared shopping and to-do lists cover everyday coordination. The shopping list’s offline access is a practical strength for grocery trips. Google and Outlook sync is reserved for Premium, so families that need their external calendars connected should budget for a paid plan.

Planning and communication

Premium’s budget tracker, meal planner and timetable extend FamilyWall beyond basic scheduling. Private family messaging supports text, voice, photos and video, and private groups can serve different circles of relatives or neighbors. These tools suit households that want planning and conversation alongside calendar entries; they add less for families already comfortable using separate services.

Location and privacy

The Premium locator and place alerts can support everyday family coordination, but the locator’s stated purpose and limits matter: it shows a last explicitly posted position and is not an emergency service. The location feature can be disabled in device settings to withdraw consent.

Pricing

FamilyWall is freemium, with a 30-day trial and a free plan. Free includes the shared calendar, shopping lists, to-do lists, messenger and contact book. It is a sensible starting point for households that need core coordination but can forgo calendar sync and Premium planning tools.

Premium costs 4.99 USD per month when billed monthly, or 44.99 USD per year when billed annually. Both paid options include Premium features and apply to the first five circles. Premium adds the budget tracker, meal planner, timetable, Google and Outlook calendar sync, family locator and 25 GB of storage. The annual option lowers the stated cost compared with paying monthly for a full year, while monthly billing avoids an annual commitment. Families with more than five circles should account for that stated coverage limit.

Platforms

FamilyWall is available on Android, iOS and the web. Mobile apps are available for both major mobile platforms, making it suitable for households using a mix of phones and browser access.

Who it's for

FamilyWall is a good fit for households that want shared schedules, errands and tasks alongside private communication, or that would use its paid meal, budget and timetable tools. It is especially relevant when Google or Outlook calendar sync is a priority. A household seeking only a shared calendar may find the broader feature set unnecessary, while anyone considering location sharing should be comfortable with its personal-use scope.

Pros and cons

Pros: The free plan combines a calendar, shopping and to-do lists, messaging and a contact book, so basic household coordination does not require a subscription.
Pros: Offline shopping lists help keep grocery errands usable without a live connection.
Pros: Premium brings two-way Google and Outlook sync together with budgeting, meal planning, a timetable and 25 GB of storage.
Cons: Calendar sync and the additional planning tools require Premium, limiting the free tier for households that depend on those capabilities.
Cons: Paid coverage applies to the first five circles, a limit to consider for households organizing more groups.
Cons: The locator is not suitable for emergencies and relies on a family member’s last explicitly posted position.
