Overview

Teamup is a cloud calendar for groups coordinating schedules, resources and team operations. It is a better fit for shared, permission-sensitive planning than for people seeking a personal calendar or a dedicated booking system. Its appeal is the combination of flexible calendar views and granular sharing; its ceiling is the limits on users and sub-calendars, along with the absence of private-server hosting.

Key features

Views and event information

Twelve calendar views, including year and table views, give teams more than one way to scan busy schedules. Time blocking supports planning work in calendar slots. Events can carry custom fields, images and file attachments, and can be shared as standalone pages, which is useful when a booking or job needs supporting context beyond its date and title. Custom fields are tightly capped on lower plans: Free and Plus allow one, while Pro raises that to ten.

Access and coordination

Nine permission levels let administrators distinguish what different calendar participants can access. Links can be shared with people who do not have accounts, making external coordination less cumbersome, though choosing appropriate access levels matters when sharing beyond the core team. Teamup supports shared calendars and one-way calendar sync; it is not a two-way synchronization option.

Integrations and security

Teamup lists an API, iCalendar feeds, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Trello and Zapier as integrations. Inbound iCalendar refresh intervals are specified on the higher plans, ranging from one hour on Pro to five minutes on Enterprise, so faster updates come with a higher subscription tier. Teamup says it is certified under ISO/IEC 27001 and compliant with the EU GDPR, and describes TLS connections using 128-bit AES encryption plus AES encryption for stored data and backups. Production services run on AWS, with user content redundantly stored in Oregon and Ireland. Teams requiring private-server hosting should rule it out.

Pricing

Teamup has a free plan and four paid calendar tiers, with paid plans including email support. Free is free and is free to use for as long as needed. Its five sub-calendars, five users, one custom field and one year of historical data make it a practical starting point for a small group, but not a roomy long-term home for a growing operation.

Plus costs 12.00 USD per month when billed yearly, or $15 billed monthly. It raises the allowance to 12 sub-calendars and 12 users, adds 2GB storage, Daily Agenda and five years of historical data, but keeps the one-custom-field limit. Pro costs 30.00 USD per month billed yearly, or $35 billed monthly; it supports 25 sub-calendars and 25 users, 10 custom fields, 100GB storage and one-hour inbound iCal feed sync. Pro suits teams whose event details and storage needs have outgrown Plus, but the user cap remains modest.

Business is 70.00 USD per month billed yearly, or $85 billed monthly. It allows 70 sub-calendars, 50 users, 20 custom fields, 400GB storage, 15-minute inbound iCal feed sync and ten years of historical data. Enterprise is 125.00 USD per month billed yearly, or $160 billed monthly, and expands that to 150 sub-calendars, 100 users, 50 custom fields, 1000GB storage, five-minute inbound feed sync and 15 years of history; it also adds call-back support. These tiers are better suited to larger or more data-heavy operations, but even Enterprise tops out at 100 users per calendar.

Organization Accounts start at US$1,200 per year and scale incrementally with the number of users. They add SSO, scalable user management, and central administration with consolidated billing for multiple master calendars. A three-day trial is available. For organizations that need more centralized account management across several calendars, this is a distinct option from simply buying a larger single calendar tier.

Platforms

Teamup is available on web, iOS and Android, and offers an API. The mobile apps make schedules accessible away from a desk, while the web version remains an option for teams managing calendars on a computer.

Who it's for

Teamup makes sense for businesses and teams coordinating shared schedules, resources or operations, including room bookings and field-crew job schedules. It is particularly suitable when different participants need different levels of access or when outsiders must view calendar information without creating accounts. Small teams can begin on Free, while teams with growing calendars, storage or event-detail needs can move to paid tiers. It is less suitable for groups that need private hosting, two-way sync or more than 100 users on one calendar.

Pros and cons

Pros: Twelve views and nine permission levels support varied scheduling and sharing needs.
Pros: Link sharing without accounts can simplify coordination with external participants.
Pros: Higher tiers expand sub-calendars, users, custom fields, storage and history, with faster inbound iCal refreshes.
Cons: Free is capped at five users and five sub-calendars, and includes just one year of history.
Cons: Plus retains a one-custom-field cap, limiting event detail unless teams upgrade to Pro.
Cons: Sync is one-way, and Teamup does not offer private-server hosting.
Cons: Enterprise still has a 100-user cap per calendar, which may not fit larger groups.

Alternatives

For general-purpose calendar options, compare Calendar apps. If the job is specifically organizing appointments or classes for a fitness business, rather than coordinating broader team schedules, Personal Trainer Scheduling Software and Yoga Studio Software are more targeted categories.

WellnessLiving is worth considering for a business that wants classes and appointments booking alongside its client and staff apps; its Starter plan is 62.00 USD per month billed annually for one staff member. BookFit is a more booking-focused choice, with a free plan covering unlimited clients and bookings, memberships, packs, vouchers and online payments, though payments carry a 3.5% + €0.25 fee. inyad may suit a business looking for a point-of-sale platform; its listed options include inyad Pay for Morocco, free while processing payments, with a terminal purchased separately and a one-time activation fee.

PushPress offers a free plan with no monthly fees and unlimited leads, admins, members and staff, but payment processing fees apply. Gymdesk is an alternative for a gym with up to 50 members, with its listed plan at 75.00 USD per month. Arketa may suit a solo fitness professional seeking class, private-session and event scheduling; its Individual plan is 49.00 USD per month billed annually, with one team-member login and transaction fees. EZFacility is another option for facility management, with custom pricing. Gymcatch may fit a smaller booking operation seeking unlimited bookings, customers and team members for 10.00 GBP per month.

Verdict

Choose Teamup if a team needs a shared operational calendar with varied access permissions, multiple calendar views and event details that can grow with its plan. The free tier is a credible way for a very small group to start, but meaningful headroom for users, custom fields, storage and history requires a paid subscription. Look elsewhere if you need two-way calendar sync, private-server hosting, or a single calendar that can accommodate more than 100 users.
