Overview

Smart Autocorrect addresses spelling, grammar, and structure as you type, while style suggestions and context correction aim beyond basic typo repair. Transform adds assistants for rewriting, structuring, and translation. Together, these tools suit people who move between drafting and polishing, but the value depends on whether MerciApp supports the languages and applications they use.

Dynamic Snippets save customizable text and personalized content for insertion with keyboard shortcuts. That can reduce repeated work for people who send similar messages or use standard wording; it offers less to writers whose text is mostly new each time.

Key features

Correction and transformation

MerciApp Correct supports French, Spanish, Italian, German, and Portuguese. Transform offers ready-made and customizable assistants, and Assist includes unlimited Transform usage. The free plan's three rewrites per day make it suitable for trying the workflow, not sustained daily rewriting.

Working across apps

The browser extension supports Chrome, Firefox, and Edge and works with tools including Gmail, Slack, Facebook, WordPress, Salesforce, and HubSpot. Word and Outlook extensions add options for office documents. Safari, Opera, and Brave are not compatible, and the Windows app has partial compatibility with some applications, prioritizing Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Slack, Teams Pro, and FrontApp. The Outlook add-in works on Windows 10 and 11, macOS, and Office Online, but requires an Exchange or Microsoft 365 account connection.

Privacy and support

MerciApp says it does not use text to train its AI and that data is hosted in Europe in line with GDPR. Its pricing page specifies hosting in France, private data, and no sharing with third parties; stored data is anonymized and accessible only to its in-house linguistics team. Assist includes premium onboarding and support, while Enterprise adds dedicated account management and personalized rollout.

Pricing

Free is free and includes 600 analyzed words and three Transform rewrites per day, plus free 30-day trials of Transform and Snippets. The 600-word daily cap makes this a reasonable fit for occasional writers, but a narrow allowance for regular work.

Assist is 12.00 EUR per month, starting at 12€/month; the annual plan shows 144€/year per seat. It includes unlimited Transform usage, Dynamic Snippets, Smart Autocorrect, custom assistants, and team tools and analytics. This is the practical choice for frequent writers who will use the correction and reusable-text tools; the per-seat annual price matters for teams budgeting multiple users.

Enterprise has custom pricing and a 20-seat minimum. Dedicated account management and personalized rollout make it a fit for larger organizations, but the minimum rules it out for smaller teams.

Platforms

MerciApp is available on Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, the web, and as an extension. It offers a desktop app and browser extension, but no mobile app. The mobile platform listings therefore should not be taken to mean there is a standalone mobile application.

Who it's for

MerciApp is best for individuals and teams that write regularly across supported workplace apps, especially those who benefit from custom rewriting assistants or reusable snippets. Multilingual writers may value its five supported correction languages. Occasional writers can use the free plan, while anyone needing more than 600 analyzed words a day or three rewrites should consider Assist. It is a weaker fit for users dependent on Safari, Opera, or Brave, or organizations with fewer than 20 seats seeking Enterprise support.

Pros and cons

Pros: Real-time correction covers spelling, grammar, and structure, rather than only post-draft proofreading.
Pros: Transform combines rewriting, structuring, and translation assistants, with custom assistants and unlimited usage on Assist.
Pros: Dynamic Snippets can speed up repeated writing through keyboard shortcuts and customizable text.
Cons: The free plan's 600-word and three-rewrite daily limits constrain regular use.
Cons: Safari, Opera, and Brave are unsupported, and Windows app compatibility is partial.
Cons: Enterprise requires at least 20 seats, excluding smaller teams from that tier.

Alternatives

For a broader shortlist, start with Grammar checkers. Sapling is worth considering if API or self-hosted access matters, or if its free plan's 20 snippets and AI-detector allowances better fit the task. LanguageTool is an alternative for users who want an extension across iOS, macOS, and Windows, with Basic capped at 2,000 characters per text field and Premium Monthly at 150,000.

Duden-Mentor is another freemium option, with a free Basis tier that allows 500 characters without an account. iGrammar may suit users looking for a free plan with 10 corrections and tools including grammar correction, spelling checks, summarizing, and paraphrasing. Microsoft Editor is an option for readers already considering Microsoft 365 Personal, priced at 9.99 USD per month for one person and five devices at once.

Grammarly offers a free plan with 100 AI prompts per month and a Pro plan with 2,000 AI prompts per member per month; choose it if those prompt allowances better match your needs. ProWritingAid may fit writers who can work within its free limits of 500 words per report, two report runs and 10 Rephrases per day. Wordvice AI is an alternative for users who prefer a free allowance of 5,000 words per month, capped at 500 words per submission.

Verdict

Choose MerciApp if you write frequently across supported apps and want real-time correction alongside customizable rewriting and reusable snippets. Assist is the clearest fit for regular use because it removes Transform's daily cap and adds team tools. Look elsewhere if you need a supported browser outside Chrome, Firefox, or Edge, or if the free tier's daily limits are too restrictive.
