Overview

MyKidReports brings enrollment, attendance, family communication, learning, and reporting together, with role-specific views for parents, staff, and administrators. That breadth can help a provider keep routine tasks in one service, though a very small free account has only one staff login and one room.

The company, founded in 2019, says the service uses role-based access and end-to-end encryption, runs on AWS, and backs up data. Payments are powered by Stripe and Deluxe. Social sharing supports Facebook, Instagram, and X.

Key features

The free plan includes family profiles, parent messaging, daily activities, check-in, and attendance reports. Enrollment management and lesson planning extend its usefulness beyond basic arrival tracking. Other features address ratios, food, compliance, websites, paperwork, communication, learning, and reporting, giving providers a broad set of childcare tools to consider in one system.

Billing and payments are reserved for Pro, which is a meaningful dividing line for providers who collect fees through their software. Pro and Enterprise also include per-module staff permissions, so administrators can define what each staff member can see and do. Training and onboarding are included at no extra cost; Enterprise adds dedicated onboarding and priority support.

Pricing

MKR Lite is free forever for up to 5 children. It includes 1 staff account, 1 room, the parent app and messaging, daily activities, check-in, attendance reports, and family profiles. That is a useful starting point for a home provider or very small group, but the child, staff, and room caps limit its fit as a program grows, and it does not include billing and payments.

MKR Pro costs $0.99 per child per month, billed in tiers of 10 children, and covers 1–100 children with unlimited staff. The 14-day free trial requires no credit card, and cancellation is allowed anytime. At the listed rate, tiered billing means a provider pays by child groups of ten rather than by an exact headcount. There are no setup fees, contracts, hidden costs, or onboarding charges.

Enterprise uses custom pricing for centers with 100+ children and multi-center groups. Its dedicated onboarding and priority support suit larger organizations needing a multi-site arrangement, though the custom price makes direct cost comparison difficult.

Platforms

The app is available on iOS and Android and is included free with every plan. That gives families and staff mobile access without a separate app charge. The listed child capacity is 100, so larger or multi-center organizations should consider the Enterprise plan.

Who it's for

MyKidReports is a strong fit for a small childcare provider that wants parent communication, attendance, enrollment, and learning features together, especially if five children and one staff account are enough to start. Pro is the practical choice for a growing program that needs payments or more staff. Larger centers and multi-center groups have an Enterprise option, while programs that need a published Enterprise price may prefer a product with clearer upfront costs.

Pros and cons

Useful free starting tier: messaging, check-in, attendance reports, daily activities, and family profiles are included for up to five children.
Broad childcare coverage: enrollment, lesson planning, ratios, food, compliance, and paperwork sit alongside family communication and reporting.
Pro scales staff access: unlimited staff and per-module permissions support programs with more employees and distinct responsibilities.
Payments require Pro: providers cannot use the free plan for billing and payments.
Strict Lite limits: one staff account and one room may be too restrictive even for some small providers.
Enterprise cost is harder to assess: centers with 100+ children must request custom pricing.

Alternatives

BloomKidz is a paid alternative with a free plan and trial, iOS and Android apps, and monthly pricing of 24.99 GBP for 1–30 children and 34.99 GBP for 31–50 children. Consider it if a priced monthly nursery plan is easier to evaluate than MyKidReports’ per-child tiers.

CubbyTrack offers a free Home Provider plan for up to four active children and a trial, with web access. It may suit a home provider comparing a smaller free child allowance.

ParentLink has a free forever web plan for up to 15 children, five staff users, three rooms, and 30 parent accounts, with a trial. Choose it if those higher free-plan account limits matter more than mobile apps.

Lillio offers a free plan and trial across Android, iOS, and web, with custom pricing based on center needs and size. It is an option for centers comparing a custom-priced subscription.

Parent has a free trial and Android, iOS, and web access. Its listed Basic plan includes messaging, media sharing, a newsfeed, scheduling, check-in and check-out, and attendance reporting.

Kangarootime offers a free plan for one program, one school, and five staff members, plus a Premium plan for up to 10 schools with unlimited staff. It may suit a group focused on school and staff allowances.

Yenlio has a free starter plan for up to three children and one staff account, with Android, iOS, and web access and a trial. Its smaller free child cap may suit providers weighing a basic starter tier.

Gertrude is another alternative.

Verdict

MyKidReports is a sensible choice for small providers who want family communication, attendance, enrollment, and learning tools under one roof, with a genuinely usable free starting point. Choose Pro when payments, more staff, or growth beyond five children matter. Look elsewhere if billing must be free or if your larger organization needs a clear published price before considering a plan.
