Overview

The app is built for aesthetic and entertainment use, with transformations ranging from 3D cartoons and caricatures to Renaissance paintings and anime-inspired effects. That variety makes it a focused option for personal portraits, but not a general-purpose image generator: it cannot turn a text prompt into a cartoon.

Editing requires uploading the photo selected by the user. The privacy policy says those photos are not stored in the cloud and are destroyed after processing, and that the app does not collect or store face data, including biometric data. It may collect usage and device data and use Firebase Analytics. The Google Play listing says data is encrypted in transit and not shared with third parties. Google Cloud hosts the backend on servers in the United States.

The terms limit results to personal or editorial use; commercial use, resale, and distribution are prohibited. That makes the app unsuitable for business assets or work intended for sale, even if the image itself is only a portrait transformation.

Key features

Photo art transformations: Apply cartoon, art, and portrait styles to selected photos, including 3D cartoons, caricatures, Renaissance paintings, and anime-inspired effects. The range gives portrait-focused users several distinct looks without text prompting, but every transformation starts with a photo.
Portrait editing: Google Play describes controls for adjusting color, brightness, and other aspects of portraits. These help refine an edited image, though the app’s core remains stylized photo treatment rather than broad image editing.
Cartoon avatar effects: Voilà Cartoon Avatar includes more than 20 effects, such as stickers, cartoon characters, Chibi, and plush wool. It offers a broader set of playful avatar treatments for users making social-ready images.
Save and share: Creations can be saved and shared on social networks, fitting the app’s entertainment and personal-use focus.

Pricing

Voilà AI Artist uses a freemium model. The Free plan is free and is free to use; additional features require an optional subscription. The free offering gives newcomers a way to try the app, but the paid benefits are the practical difference for regular use.

Voilà AI Artist Pro Monthly: 5.99 USD per month, billed automatically and renewing unless canceled. It removes watermarks and ads and provides turbo processing speed. This is the shorter-commitment choice for users who want those benefits without paying for a year upfront.
Voilà AI Artist Pro Yearly: 29.99 USD per year, billed automatically and renewing unless canceled. It includes the same no-watermark, no-ads, and turbo-speed benefits, plus a 3-day free trial. It fits users expecting to use the app throughout the year; the renewal term matters, so cancel before renewal if you do not want another annual charge.

Prices are in U.S. dollars. No seat or creation quota is stated for these plans. The free trial is stated for the yearly subscription.

Platforms

Voilà AI Artist is available on Android and iOS. That mobile focus suits people editing and sharing portraits from a phone, but it is not a desktop or web option.

Who it's for

Choose Voilà AI Artist for personal or editorial portraits when you want multiple playful photo effects in a mobile app and can accept uploading selected photos for processing. It is a poor fit for text-led image creation, desktop workflows, or commercial projects: it does not generate cartoons from prompts, is limited to Android and iOS, and its terms bar commercial use, resale, and distribution.

Pros and cons

Pro: A varied set of recognizable portrait styles, from caricatures to Renaissance-inspired looks, supports different personal-photo treatments in one app.
Pro: The privacy policy says selected photos are destroyed after processing and that face and biometric data are not collected or stored.
Con: Selected photos are uploaded for processing, and the backend servers are in the United States, which may not suit users who prefer entirely local editing.
Con: Results cannot be used commercially, resold, or distributed, ruling it out for business and resale workflows.
Con: Text-to-cartoon generation is not supported, so users must start with a photo.

Alternatives

For a broader set of cartoon tools, browse AI Cartoon Generators. Choose Cartoonie if you want access across Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows; its free web preview is one protected preview, with full-resolution output and more creations requiring a 10-credit pack. Cartoonize is another cross-platform freemium option, with a free Basic plan offering essential effects and features without registration and a Pro Annual Plan at 6.99 USD per year.

GenToon may suit users who want a credit-based free tier: it includes 150 credits per month and 20 characters, with Android, iOS, and web access. ImageToCartoon offers a public converter that requires no account, subscription, credits, or payment. Pixelcut has a free plan with limited background removal and upscaling, plus free exports without a watermark, and supports Android, iOS, API, and web.

Dreamina offers a forever-free tier and a Basic plan at 15.00 USD per month with 1,575 credits per month, watermark removal, and longer generation. myComics.ai is a better match for comic-making: its free tier includes 30 credits and three art styles, while a printed comic book starts at 9.99 USD once. Pict.AI offers free web access capped at two uses per tool per IP address, with further use directed to its mobile app.

Verdict

Voilà AI Artist is a sensible pick for mobile users who want quick, varied photo-to-cartoon and portrait treatments for personal or editorial sharing. Its photo-based style range and stated handling of selected images are compelling for that narrow purpose. Look elsewhere if you need text-to-image creation, desktop access, or commercial rights; the subscription mainly adds a cleaner, faster experience, not permission to use results commercially.
