To create a metal song with AI, describe the sound and arrangement in concrete musical terms, generate a short draft, then revise the parts that define the subgenre: distorted guitar riffs, forceful drums, bass that follows the riff, and the vocal approach you want. The supplied product details establish song generation and editing for several tools, but they do not confirm metal genre support, guitar-specific controls, tuning choices, or reliable metal vocals. Treat each output as a draft and check the tool’s current prompt and export options before committing to a workflow.
Choose A Workflow That Matches Your Goal
For a complete vocal or instrumental draft, Suno and Eleven Music list full-song generation; Suno also lists editing, remixing, extensions, section replacement, and stem export, while Eleven Music lists section editing, inpainting, stems, and MP3/WAV exports. Beat Shaper is a better fit when you want editable drums, basslines, synths, loops, and arrangements to take into a DAW, but its listed capabilities do not establish guitar generation. These are workflow fits based on stated features, not confirmation that any product can generate metal convincingly.
Write A Metal Prompt With Arrangement Detail
Start with a compact description of the subgenre, tempo feel, guitar character, drum groove, vocal style, and song structure. Name only details you can evaluate by listening. If you have a specific tuning, meter, guitar technique, or production reference in mind, include it as an instruction, but the supplied product details do not establish that these controls are supported or followed precisely.
Example Prompt For A Vocal Draft
“Write an original heavy metal song with a dark, tense mood. Use a tightly repeated distorted guitar riff, palm-muted verse rhythm, a more open chorus riff, low bass following the guitar, hard-hitting drums with double-kick energy, and forceful clean vocals with a rough edge. Structure: short intro, verse, chorus, second verse, chorus, bridge, final chorus, abrupt ending. Keep the riff central and leave a brief instrumental break before the final chorus.”

These prompts describe the requested sound; they do not guarantee the model will produce the instruments or structure exactly. If a tool offers a genre, mood, energy, or section control, use the controls it actually presents and check its site for whether metal or a particular subgenre is supported.

Generate And Revise In Short Passes
- Pick one target. Decide whether the first draft should be an instrumental riff bed or a complete vocal song. Keep the first request centered on one metal style rather than combining several.
- Generate a draft. Enter the relevant prompt in a full-song generator such as Suno or Eleven Music. If the tool exposes lyrics, add your original lyric; otherwise, request an instrumental version. The listed features do not establish exact control over tuning, meter, guitar tone, or vocal technique.
- Listen for the riff and pulse. Check whether the guitar-like part has a repeatable motif, whether the drums give it weight, and whether the sections create useful contrast. If those elements are missing, revise the prompt around the specific weakness instead of adding unrelated adjectives.
- Change one section at a time. Suno lists section replacement and extensions; Eleven Music lists section editing and inpainting. Use those features if available in your chosen plan to rework a weak chorus, bridge, or transition. Confirm the current interface supports the edit you need.
- Build an editable rhythm bed if needed. Beat Shaper lists piano-roll editing and adjustable genre, mood, energy, and syncopation, plus MIDI and audio export options. Use it to shape drums or bass for later DAW work; its listed instruments do not include guitar, so plan separately for guitar parts and verify the export and plan limits before starting.
- Export only what your next step needs. Suno lists stem export, and Eleven Music lists stems and MP3/WAV exports. Beat Shaper lists MIDI, WAV, MP3, stem, and DAW project export options, with some options restricted by plan. Check each vendor’s current terms and plan page for the exact export available to you.
Check The Rights Before Sharing Or Releasing
Do not assume that a generated voice, uploaded reference, cover, or sample is cleared for your intended release. Get consent for any person’s voice or material you provide, and review the chosen platform’s current terms for ownership, commercial use, and permitted uploads. Suno’s supplied details say its Free Plan has no commercial rights; Eleven Music’s supplied details say commercial rights vary by plan and exclude film, TV, and studio games. Confirm the applicable terms with each vendor before distribution.
