How to Create an Electronic Track With AI: A DAW Workflow

Create an electronic track with AI by generating a structured instrumental, exporting its stems or MIDI, and arranging and mixing those parts in a DAW. For this workflow, Beat Shaper is the clearest fit: its supplied features include editable drums, basslines, synths, loops and arrangements, piano-roll controls, and MIDI, WAV, MP3, stem and DAW project export options. Its details do not name specific electronic subgenres, so treat the prompt below as a starting brief and check the vendor’s current genre support before relying on a particular style.

Plan The Track Before Generating

Decide what the listener should hear, and when. Electronic production depends on the relationship between the kick and bass, the density of the percussion, the character of the main synth, and changes in energy across sections. Set those choices in your prompt so the generator has a usable arrangement brief instead of a string of mood words.

  • Choose a direction: describe the sound in plain terms, such as a restrained club instrumental, a bright synth-led track, or a darker, sparse electronic piece. These are creative examples, not verified presets.
  • Specify roles: ask for a steady kick, a bassline that leaves room for it, crisp percussion, a repeating synth motif, and a contrasting breakdown.
  • Describe the arc: say whether the opening should be sparse, where the main section should arrive, and whether the ending should resolve or leave room for a DJ-style transition. Check whether the chosen tool supports the exact arrangement or transition you request.
  • Keep the first brief focused: request an instrumental if vocals are not part of the track. Add one change at a time in later generations so you can tell what improved.

Generate A First Arrangement In Beat Shaper

  1. Open Beat Shaper in a browser. It is described as a browser-based workspace, not a standalone desktop application.
  2. Enter a concrete brief. For example: Instrumental electronic track; tight four-on-the-floor kick; rounded bassline with space around each kick; crisp syncopated percussion; short, repeating synth motif; sparse opening, fuller central section, brief breakdown, and a clean outro. Keep the arrangement coherent and avoid vocals. This wording is a prompt suggestion, not a claim that a named genre or exact structure is guaranteed.
  3. Set the available controls deliberately. Beat Shaper lists controls for genre, mood, energy, and syncopation. Choose values that serve the brief; if a particular subgenre or sound is not offered, do not assume the control can produce it.
  4. Generate and listen for arrangement problems. Check whether the kick and bass compete, whether the synth motif stays intelligible, and whether the energy changes are clear. Regenerate or revise one element at a time.
  5. Edit the parts that need precision. The product lists piano-roll editing and editable drums, basslines, synths, loops, and arrangements. Use those controls to adjust the notes or rhythmic placements that distract from the groove, where the relevant part is editable.

Build The Track In A DAW

  1. Choose an export that matches the next task. MIDI is useful when you want to edit notes; WAV or stems are useful when you want audio parts to arrange or mix. Beat Shaper also lists MP3 and DAW project export options. The supplied details do not establish which other DAWs, project formats, or export options are included on each plan, so check the current plan terms before choosing.
  2. Lay out the sections. Put the opening, main section, breakdown, return, and ending in a deliberate order. Remove or mute parts during transitions where a thinner texture will make the return feel stronger.
  3. Shape the kick and bass relationship. Listen to them together first, then adjust their notes, levels, or timing in your DAW if the low end sounds crowded. These are standard production decisions; the supplied tool details do not establish automatic sidechain processing or specific mixing effects.
  4. Give the synth motif room. Keep competing parts out of the same musical space when they obscure the hook. Use automation or effects only if your DAW provides them; Beat Shaper’s listed features do not establish particular effects.
  5. Compare sections at matched playback level. Check that the breakdown is meaningfully lighter and the return feels intentional, then listen through the ending for abrupt cuts or unfinished parts.

Choose A Different Starting Point When Needed

These alternatives have some relevant production features, but the supplied details do not establish electronic-genre-specific support for them either. Confirm that the current product can create the sound and exports you need before building a project around it.

Tool Relevant supplied capabilities Important constraint
Soundverse AI Beat Maker Generates complete instrumentals with drums, basslines, melodies, and arrangements; lists WAV mixes, separated stems, and MIDI export. Available on web, iOS, and Android. Its focus is complete instrumentals rather than one-bar loop creation. Free Tier starts with 1,000 tokens upon signup.
InsMelo AI Beat Maker Lists genre, BPM, mood, and structure controls, plus MP3, WAV, MIDI, and separate-stem exports. The Free plan is limited to 3.9 credits; commercial rights depend on subscription or license terms.
Suno Generates songs with instrumentation and supports editing, remixing, extensions, section replacement, and stem export. The Free Plan does not include commercial rights or stem separation. Suno Studio access is limited to the Premier Plan.

Check Exports And Rights Before Release

Do not assume that a prompt mentioning a genre guarantees genre-specific results, or that a listed export is included in every plan. Check the vendor’s current documentation for the exact style support, file formats, plan limits, and DAW compatibility you need.
