Create a usable AI music sample by generating a short idea, isolating the musical parts you need, trimming it to a clean loop or one-shot, and exporting a format your sampler or DAW can read. A practical chain is Suno or AIBeatMaker for source material, Fadr or Moises for separation, and Beat Shaper for editable MIDI and arrangement work.
Define The Sample Before Generating
Decide whether you need a loop, a one-shot, or a texture. Write down the approximate length, tempo, key, instrument, and intended use. A loop needs a clean start and end that can repeat without a click; a one-shot needs a decisive attack and a short, controlled tail. For a developer or technical creator, also choose the delivery format early: WAV for production, MIDI for editable notes, or MP3 when you only need a reference.
- Loop: Ask for a self-contained phrase such as four bars of syncopated drums or an eight-bar bass motif.
- One-shot: Ask for a single kick, snare, hit, chord stab, or impact with no surrounding arrangement.
- Texture: Ask for an evolving pad or noise bed, then select a short section after generation.
Choose A Source Tool
| Tool | Useful Sample Workflow | Relevant Limits And Rights |
|---|---|---|
| Suno | Generate songs with vocals, lyrics, instrumentation, production, editing, remixing, extensions, section replacement, and stem export. | Free Plan has 50 credits per day and an 8-minute audio-upload limit, but no commercial rights or stem separation. Pro is $8/month and limits downloads to 20 songs per month. Check Suno’s current terms before releasing samples. |
| AIBeatMaker | Prompt-based instrumental generation with genre and use-case workflows; paid plans add MP3/WAV downloads, stem splitting, and vocal removal. | Free songs are public by default. Paid exports and privacy features start with annual billing; check the vendor’s terms for sample licensing. |
| Beat Shaper | Edit drums, basslines, synths, loops, and arrangements in a piano roll, then export MIDI, WAV, MP3, stems, or a DAW project. | Starter downloads are MP3 and non-commercial. Creator is €9/month with commercial usage rights; Ableton Live project export and real-time MIDI require Producer. |
| MusicWave.ai | Generate songs up to eight minutes, then use stem splitting, remixing, mastering, and MIDI tools to extract material. | Free provides 10 credits and 2 song generations and is limited to streaming and personal use. Starter is $6.49/month, but its downloads remain personal use. Verify the plan terms before commercial sampling. |
Generate A Source Phrase
- Open your selected source tool and choose an instrumental workflow when available. Keep the request focused on one sample rather than a complete song.
- Specify musical function and structure. For example: “Four-bar dusty breakbeat loop, dry kick and snare, muted bass, no vocals, clear downbeat, loop-friendly ending.”
- Add production constraints that help editing: “Single synth chord stab, short decay, no reverb tail, leave silence before the hit.”
- Generate several variations and save the prompt, version name, tempo, and key in your project notes. Do not assume a platform has supplied a tempo or key unless it displays one.
- Listen for vocal fragments, spoken words, abrupt fills, and reverb tails. Remove anything you did not intend to sample, especially if another person’s voice or a recognizable cover is present.
Turn A Full Generation Into A Sample
Use Stems When You Need A Clean Instrument
Upload or export the generated audio, then use Fadr or Moises to isolate the part. Fadr’s Basic plan provides basic stem separation, MP3 downloads, MIDI detection, and Remix Maker; Plus adds 18 stem types, one-hour uploads, WAV downloads, a DAW Stems Plugin, and API access for $10/month. Moises supports up to 27 separation targets, bulk processing, and MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, and OGG exports; its Free plan allows up to 5 uploads per month with files up to 5 minutes and limited separation options.
Make Note-Level Repairs When The Sample Is Nearly Right
For detailed desktop editing, RipX DAW separates vocals, instruments, drums, bass, guitars, and percussion and lets you edit pitch, timing, key, tempo, effects, panning, volume, and EQ at note level. The DAW edition starts at a $99 one-time purchase and includes MIDI and audio export; advanced repair, scripts, and DAW plug-ins require PRO. Its workflow is limited to Windows and macOS.

Edit For Loopability And Sampler Use
- Trim the clip at a musical boundary, usually the first downbeat and the matching downbeat at the end.
- Remove unwanted silence, count-ins, breaths, and unrelated instruments. Use short fades at the cut points to prevent clicks.
- Match the clip’s key and tempo to your project. If the source tool did not provide those values, determine them in your DAW or audio editor instead of guessing.
- Audition the clip repeatedly. A good loop should not accumulate timing drift or reveal a tonal jump after several repetitions.
- Export a WAV master and keep the original render, separated stems, prompt, and processing notes alongside it.
Create Editable MIDI Variants
When you want to change notes rather than merely cut audio, use Beat Shaper’s piano-roll editor and MIDI export. Its controls include genre, mood, energy, and syncopation, which are useful for requesting variations such as a sparser groove or a more syncopated bassline. Starter includes 32 MIDI clips; paid plans add broader download options. Beat Shaper runs in a browser, so check that its export format fits your DAW before building a large library.
Check Consent, Copyright, And Commercial Terms
Do not publish a sample containing a person’s voice, an identifiable performance, or a transformed cover unless you have the required consent and the platform’s terms allow your intended use. Rights differ by plan: Suno Free excludes commercial rights, Beat Shaper Starter is non-commercial, AIBeatMaker makes free songs public by default, and MusicWave Free and Starter restrict use to personal use. Fadr, Moises, and RipX describe separation and editing capabilities in the supplied details but do not establish a blanket commercial license, so read their current terms before distributing a sample pack or using a sample in paid work.

- Record the tool, plan, generation date, prompt, tempo, key, and any edits.
- Mark whether the file is cleared for personal use, commercial use, or requires a terms check.
- Include a short text note describing the loop points and the intended sampler root note.
This record lets you recreate a variation, diagnose a click or timing problem, and verify the applicable plan terms when a project moves from prototype to release.
